Johnny provided exceptional customer, helped me select the perfect gift for a house warming.nnHe was highly knowledgeable about the products on offer.
Very unprofessional and judgemental behaviour from a worker there. A teacher colleague of mine went into this bottle shop wearing our workplace uniform polo shirt with school emblem. When they went to purchase a bottle of wine as a gift - not that the attendant knew this they were told they could not be served as they were ‘in school uniform’. My colleague then produced their ID to show they were of legal age to purchase alcohol and told the attendant they were a teacher, hence the school logo on the shirt. The attendant then replied that they would ‘serve them this time’ but that they should ‘cover up’ the school emblem in future as they ‘are representing the school’. I am sure many other employees from various companies and organisations would wear their work logos on various clothing items to purchase liquor products and not be refused service or told they need to cover this up, e.g. nurses who work for NSW Health, so why should teachers? My colleague was not doing anything wrong, it is not illegal to serve a teacher who is wearing their ‘workplace’ uniform, and there is nothing in our code of conduct that states we cannot purchase alcohol whilst wearing something that has our school emblem on it. My colleague was made to feel embarrassed and ashamed from the judgement of this Liquorland worker.
They would not let me purchase anything as they suspected secondary supply and my eldest 14 would have to produce ID. NOT HAPPY! Obviously she did not listen to my conversation about alcohol and the ill effects on brain development in teenagers as she was standing next to me.
