My husband and 2 young kids have been attending this church ever since we moved back to Sydney early last year. We were planning to visit a few difference churches in the area before making a decision, but 1 Sunday at Lifesource and we have stayed since! We love the pastors and the teaching, and our kids love the kids ministry programs and now they get sad when they don't get to go due to illness or travel etc. I have been to different churches in many other countries in the past, and can honestly say the community you can find here is by far the best! You will see people from all 4 generations and all equally passionate about God. Couldn't love this church more. To the person who gave a very surprising bad review in the past, I would encourage you to attend the service more than 1 time to give a fair review. I have never seen more Christianity at work, through action than I have seen here. Whether it is through sending teams to Africa or giving out food to the poor every week locally, I have definitely seen Jesus modelled out week after week.
Cultish behaviours, strange teachings, and treats their volunteers poorly. They seem to have a massive focus on tithing and possessions. They will expect you to prioritise them over family, work and health. Expect to be treated according to your position in their hierarchy.
This church just gets better and better each year, serving the members but also the local community with wonderful programs like FoodCare, providing free and low cost food to those who can't afford it. The Sunday School program is second to none and the coffee is pretty good too!!
I have been attending this Pentecostal Church for a while now 1.5 yrs. The people are nice and genuine, it’s a community based church. Very inviting. They have connect groups where you can get connected make friends and follow God. They have youth, 18-25, then 25+. The Church is reasonable in they sense of preaching. However what I found extremely difficult was trying to fit in to a connect group and being respected and accepted. As an individual coming from a different Christian and ethnic background I felt/feel completely alienated. The maturity was definitely not there. I know the idea of a connect group is to get people connected, however I felt completely unwelcome. The people I was surrounded with were completely self centred and cared nothing for God or for others. I have postponed reviewing this Church as I wanted to give it a good run before making my final judgment. I will not attend this Church again. I hope that I can feel peace.
We came from Melbourne and we were introduced to LifeSource Christian Church back in 2011. This warm and full of loving people church has blessed us with many very close friends through it's connect groups and prayer groups. This church has very good praise and worship sessions, great sermons, teachings and great facilities for kids. You will definitely see people saved and truly love God. I must say the Holy Spirit is working overtime here! Very mission focused and full of compassion for the poor. This verse from the bible best describe this loving church - " Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love". We love you! Joshua Chen, Chee Ling, Chanel and Christie.
I've grown up in this Church from pretty well the beginning. My family came when i was just born and the Church had been established for about 9-10 months. I'm the youngest of 5 kids, and my entire family have all benefited so much over the years from being connected to and part of LifeSource Christian Church. If one were to take stock of each of our lives and the growing families of all my siblings, one would see that a healthy, Christian foundation that has been laid and encouraged. It bears good fruit, and the next generation my nephews and neices is blessed because of the Christ-centered life of integrity that this Church teaches, encourages, and enables. My wife and I have been so blessed to be connected with many wonderful Christian friends, and the Pastors are amazing men and women of God. This Church challenges me to live with God in mind, to acknowledge Him in all I do, to trust Him in every aspect of my life, and to live according to His standard and His plan. I am so glad that we are constantly being inspired and challenged to press on into the life that God calls us to. What's more, the fruit of this Church is shown in our love for and action towards meeting the needs of our Community. LifeSource Community Care shows the love of Christ to the wider Community.
Dear Reader, Personally, I find it very challenging to write this review as I really like this community of Christians in North Shore of Sydney. Objectively, I must candidly admit my disappointments. The excellent things about this church are: 1. People are very welcoming and they serve one another well; 2. It has very energetic services; 3. Logistically, it is very well run. The parking, church service, kitchen catering and movement of people between services are very smooth; and 4. People are very enterprising in the way which they raise funds for ministry work e.g. selling home cooked meals for mission. Sadly, I have visited this church a few times now to know that theologically the preaching does not sound quite right. Firstly, the church is thankful by the way they pray for the good things in life and they see them as the blessings from GOD e.g. health, healing and wealth. Could this church rejoice through suffering and persecution Read Romans 5:3? Secondly, the term "worship" appears to be very confusing in that church. They limit the understanding to music worship in songs and praises. As the service almost finishes, the "worship" leader would say, "Let's worship God for the last time by singing…" I imagine the challenge is not what they do on Sundays by music worship, but how they live out their faith from Mondays to Saturdays in worshiping their God. Thirdly, I must admit that I find it hard, when people say things like "spirit fills the church this morning". I can see their music opens up the emotional channels. I can not conclusively see the "fruit of the spirit" Galatians 5:22-23. The church may be confused with the spiritual transformation of christian character and feeling positive/high in a church environment. Lastly, I am particularly troubled by the idea of "faith without works is dead". The leadership casually quoted before offering buckets go around the congregation. As an objective outsider, the perception in the church is that faith in Christ alone is insufficient and you need works evidence to prove it e.g. generosity in finance and service. Yet, biblical faith is not performance based Galatians 2:16. I have great difficulty wrestling with their fundamental beliefs in biblical truth and would be unlikely to visit their church again. As a visitor, I am more interested in seeing Christ at work in a Christian church. Please don't let me discourage you from visiting LifeSource. In fact, I encourage you to visit other churches in the area for you to form an independent opinion, which includes LifeSource Chatswood. Wish you all the best!
What a great family, focused on loving God and loving others. I have been so blessed through the people here. I love this church, I love the people... But most of all I love God!!! And I love that this place is full of people that feel the same way! Come along! We love helping people feel welcomed and loved and would love to have you visit!!
I've visited this church many times. I don't reside on the North Shore as I used to. When I did I attended an AOG church that was at 33 Gibbes Street which many of the older members from LifeSource church also used to attend. LIfeSource is a congregation that is far more active than most churches. They have a monthly prayer meeting and a weekly men's early morning prayer group. . They also have Saturday healing rooms and a Thursday market and support overseas missions. Praise and worship used to be very doctrinal and unique to this congregation. Now they have a mixture of songs
Unless you're a young earth creationist either stay at home or try a more traditionalist congregation or maybe a Uniting church type set-up. Nice facilities though but not a place for non-bible literialists.
