Great atmosphere to watch the football. Plenty of activities for the kids on game day. Good food. But the parking is one of the worst I've seen
An absolute gem of an old-school Australian sport experience. Bring a blanket, sit on the grass, have great food not super pricey like some other stadiums and enjoy the scoreboard. Fun for the whole family. They've even updated the toilets recently! Accessible via light rail.
Sunday afternoon footy, doesn’t get better
One of the backbone sunburban grounds for NRL.Great atmosphere to watch the football with plenty of activities for the kids on game day. It's definately a suburban ground with facilities not being as flash as bigger purpose built stadiums. Seating areas are in need of an upgrade and some facilities also need a good modernisation/refresh. But there is a great atmosphere on game day and you don't feel too isolated from the action on the pitch. A few good options for food around the ground. Parking is very limited and difficult to get in and out of on game day due to the ground being surrounded by small suburban streets.
Great atmosphere in an old school stadium. Watched Sydney FC on a sunny afternoon - I was glad to be undercover in the shade. Getting there and out isn't the easiest - light rail is near by and there are busses, but not great. Food and drink options average.
Yep, you gotta love Leichhardt Oval when the Tigers are playing. So much atmosphere in this little ground. Was fun, I haven't been since the kids were little. Standing on the boggy wet hill after lots of rain with a thousand screaming supporters.
A local rugby ground that hosts some great union and league matches. Home to the Wests Tigers and NSW Waratahs. Parking can be challenging if you're late, beer lines are slow when packed, but many stadiums are! Public transport nearby. There's a sweet European lady who sells good old snag in a roll outside the gates. Worth it.
Western Suburbs and Balmain is like watching an abusively toxic relationship, except it’s now 20+ years later and everyone doesn’t know what to do. You should just split up and let your hippy Newtown, or North Sydney mate have a chop. Please stop. Like please. Laurie and Tommy are rolling. They woulda said from the start it was a bad idea behind a few shadow boxes and pack of darts, respectively. One Gold Coast wonder kid later and a premiership was great, but back to the separate Orange and Black, and Black and White. Western Suburbs Magpies. Balmain Tigers.
A traditional ground with great atmosphere that more than makes up for the lack of some of the modern amenities required. A very supportive environment but not all that good if your the away team :
Parking is a nightmare. Facilities are shot. The seating is well below par. Still, there's no better place to watch football when the stadium is packed. And I'm a Saints supporter!
