I used to love the IGA’s fresh salad but recently, It has changed a lot. Not fresh anymore and I paid $11 for this salad. Bit disappointed.
I love the look & feel of this supermarket. Well, maybe I shouldn't call it a supermarket more a corner store type of feel about it. Lots of interesting products to browse which Woolies or Coles would not stock. Prices a tad high, but that would be justified by the array & quality of fresh produce available
This store has gone downhill since it changed ownership and changed to IGA Legends. The store seems to be more dirty than what it used to be and the meat option is becoming more limited.nnAlso prices on some of the products has inflated by 100%. Like what in the actual. For example, basic frozen bread that has been defrosted pic attached used to be around $2.15. Now it's $4.30.
I was recently in IGA Greenslopes for the first time since they closed off their self-serve checkouts – around 15-20 people waiting the whole time I was in the store, 2 people serving and zero customer service! When I finally got to the counter I asked about the impact of closing off the self-serve checkouts on their customers and they couldn’t care less I think it was a manager I was speaking to. I get that shop lifting was a problem but I was interested in what they were doing to reduce the wait times for customers and the dismissive response suggests nothing! So they close checkouts, and tough luck for their customers!nnThe range and quality of food is not what I remember it being and I was surprised that bread in the bakery section was frozen solid. Other than the opening hours, I can no longer see any reason to shop here compared to the major supermarkets.
I love IGAs because of the range of products you don't see anywhere else. Even though it's expensive, I like to treat myself every now and again. It just seems like the variety has slowly diminished. The vegan products anyway. Now that the self checkout is closed allegedly due to thefts there are often waiting times at the check outs. All exits out of the store are physically blocked by trolleys and stock to force you to go through the check outs.
