We have been to Left Bower quite a few times now. The coffee is really good and so is the food. My favourite on the menu is the Steak Sandwich in Turkish bread. It is delicious. But you can't go wrong ordering anything from the menu. The owners Luke, his wife and their son Will are all lovely people. All the ladies who work there are super friendly and provide fantastic service. If you are in the Shire and are looking for a good option for breakfast or brunch, I recommend visiting Luke and his team at Left bower, you won't be disappointed. Kid-friendliness: I walk past Left Bower a few days a week and Luke and the girls always say hi to our boys. They have colouring pencils and paper for the kids and high chairs available.
Great cafe! excellent coffee - strong not like soapy water. Great to see some unique menu options, not just the same as every other cafe. I really enjoyed the paleo muffin. well run, prompt attention from friendly staff. Inside and outside seating options, highly recommended.
The best hot chocolate we’ve had in years, delicious freshly squeezed juice & delicious eggs and mushrooms. The service from Luke was amazing. Shame we don’t live closer because otherwise we’d be here weekly. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness!!!! 10/10 so goooood
Left Bower is an interesting spot that suffers from inconsistency, which led to it falling short of 5 stars. Stylised to look like a caravan which judging by some photos on the walls, has some backstory with the owners, it's a truly unique place. They've clearly gone for a rustic / camping feel, which I get, but the mismatched cutlery and strange teaspoons dropped things down a peg for me. With proper cutlery I don't think I could fault the decor, it's really interesting! Foodwise things were great! The menu is full of slightly odd twists on classic Aussie brunch dishes. A couple of them don't really describe how they're different, but those that do sound interesting. We tried a couple of dishes and both were excellent. Personally I didn't like the pesto on the side, but everything else was perfect and the bread in particular was really good. The coffee was nice, albeit very strong at first not necessarily a bad thing. The bigger problem however is that one coffee came quickly and with beautiful latte art, whereas the other one obviously got forgotten about, and after we asked for it towards the end of the meal it came quickly but looked pretty awful see photos. Staff were friendly, especially the owner / manager who seemed like a good guy. The server was new and was struggling with the till system, but hey, we've all been new at something, so no issue there. Good to see the manager supporting her too and not getting frustrated. Highchairs were also available but kept outside. The place was incredibly busy with locals, especially those getting takeaway. Based on this, the quality of the food, and my personal opinions on the decor and service, I'd say I'll be back, but only for takeout.
Went in on the recommendation of a friend to try the breakfast muffin. Can confirm it did not disappoint! Not too sweet, perfect level of moisture and crust factor. A solid muffin. Good coffee and nice staff tooFood: 5/5
Great vibe, great music, food was fresh and tasted amazing, excellent service from very attentive staff, generous portions, reasonable prices. There was a bit of a wait but this was because they obviously put care into making each plate and it's a comfortable setting so we didn't mind relaxing there that extra little while. Thank you for a wonderful experience Vegetarian options: My salad which I added chicken to would have been just as good without it! Kid-friendliness: 10 & 8 year old felt welcomed and raved about the kids milkshakes, and my two fussy eaters actually finished their meals! The owner also got my daughter a blanket when he noticed she was cold which was very sweet and unexpected.
AMAZING place! Coffee and food was INCREDIBLE! Ordered the scrambled eggs and they were SO worth it! Owner is AMAZING as well! Wasn't waiting that long but he seemed to think I was and gave me some complimentary cakes for the wait time! 100% RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
The coffee and food is brilliant, exactly what you need in the morning. They go out of their way to make sure you get what you are after. But their cakes are awesome!! Definitely recommend the passionfruit melting momentsFood: 5/5
Found this place with google maps recommendations and wow! It’s now one of my favourite cafes in the shire. Quirky little cafe that takes you back in time. Love the details in the crockery and decorations. Food is SO good I’m already craving the stone fruit toast. Will be back for sure!
Cute venue with domestic '70s nostalgia from thrifted crockery and furniture. Wonderful coffee and food. Consistently kind, friendly vibe from staff. Small venue with indoor and outdoor seating: indoor packed tight and not wheelchair accessible. Popular local breakfast spot.
