My partner and I got there not too long before closing but the staff were very welcoming. Every dish we ordered was very fresh, flavorful and authentic. Service was attentive and professional. Reasonably priced as well. Great place to enjoy casual French dining!
A good neighbourhood gem. Service was attentive and friendly, there seems to be a lot of regular customers who return as the staff knew them off by face. Really enjoyed the blue cheese mussels and onion soup.
We had escargots, gnocchis and beef cheeks. Hands down one of the best french restaurants in Sydney, well worth the visit. Food is simple and yet elegant, a true hidden gem. We really enjoyed. Thank you!
Fantastic dinner with Le Bouchon Tonight. The French onion soup is just above and beyond, Love the tuna and lamb for main, Must try the lemon dessert for sure :. Will come again. xxoo
Great little bistro in Crows Nest. Came here a couple of years ago and again today. Great service and food was fantastic. Good sized portions and seasoned nicely.
This was a surprising gem of a place. I was the first one there on a Saturday late morning. There was seating outside and inside. From what I saw of the inside seating, it was quite cosy. And the outside seating was very serene, on a rainy morning. Good location to people-watch. I made the mistake of ordering the best items of the menu the first go, so when I return, I won't try anything else. The Flying Grasshopper cocktail was a refreshing and minty accompaniment to the food. The butternut pumpkin soup was creamy, smooth and just enough sweetness to warm us the tastebuds. The Duck a L'orange is the best I've had in Sydney. It was perfected roasted. The sauce was more-ish. And the side of potato rosti helps to soak up the rest of the sauce leaving a plate so clean that the kitchenhand would love you for it. The lemon-infused creme brulee was unique. The tang of the lemon was a surprise to my tongue every time I took a bite but it wasn't unpleasant to taste. It was more the fact that my mind was used to the run-of-the-mill creme brulee with fruit accompaniment outside of it. I love that the burnt caramel was somewhat charred so you could taste the combination of sweet and burnt-bitterness. And finally, the soft texture of the creme brulee was a lullaby to close out the meal.
If you are looking for something traditional to eat, this is the place to be! Nothing too fancy but very homey french food. We really enjoyed the food especially the escargot, french onion soup, steak tartare, and definitely the Ile Flottante.
Outstanding - cozy, unpretentious and DELICIOUS. Started with a delicious amuse bouche some sort of unctuous, creamy frothy soup, then hit all the classics - escargot, onion soup, duck l’orange and steak tartare. And some oysters for good measure. The onion soup and steak tartare were standouts!! The duck was a little on the dry side but the other dishes and service more than compensated. 100% coming back for round 2.. or 3…
Wondeful service. Lovely French atmosphere. Fantastic food! Highly recommend for a date night. Overall 5/5
Been there 10-12 times for dinner. One of the best French restaurants in Sydney. The variety of dishes is good, the taste at most times is sensational the duck : , French mash and crepe suzette are to die for. The ambiance is great and the service is also up there, without going over the top. You will not be disappointed.
