I visited this business in the hope they could clean my suede bag. I know it’s difficult to clean suede so asked for confidence that they can definitely clean the bag, which only had about 3 drops of water stains on, and they responded “yes we clean suede all the time” well… as you can see in the photos they absolutely destroyed my bag which I only used once! I can no longer use the bag which costs me $1500 inc import fees. When speaking to the incompetent staff at the front desk and at head office I was told they have no responsibility. The lady at head office laughed and said the bag is only $1000 lol she told me that they will never refund a customer for any damage because they don’t accept fault and this is how they make their money! I KNOW. She also told me she doesn’t care that my mother who is very Ill, bought me this bag. She advised they will not be doing anything about it and made me pay $250 to get the bag back! She also told me it’s not her responsibility to call the customer to advise of this and as it’s my claim I should be chasing up the outcome of the claim. This is honestly disgusting. The staff on the front desk also laughed in my face and advised the bag it’s absolutely fine. Can we all just take a minute and laugh at them after photos from when they ‘cleaned the bag haha what cowboys. Surely my photos have got to be enough for everyone to NEVER use this pathetic, incompetent, run by stupid unintelligent staff, business. My bag was bought 2 months ago and looks now like I’ve used it for 25 years!!!
Keep away. The customer service is awful - the staff are just lazy and not interested in your clothes. The prices are very high - they really charge a lot. Compare their prices to other similar businesses nearby. For some items after a couple of visits I could buy the item new. They also take a long time and charge more if you want the item back quicker.
I used to use Lawrences regularly but haven’t for a while. Since that time they’ve stopped accepting Amex and didn’t want to accept my entertainment book 20% discount “sir we normally only allow a 10% discount”. I complained then the attendant upped it to 20% discount anyway. Ugh.
Just no. Don’t even bother. Rude service from the olds. Youngs are lovely. Clothes were not done properly. Had to go a second time and also just rude. No attempt to unzip and clean inside flaps and zip seems. $73 down the garbage.
I dropped off a three piece suit to be dry cleaned. I picked it up the next day but i didn't check the suit until i got home. When i checked the suit i noticed the vest was missing as well as a button on the blazer. The next morning i returned to the dry cleaners and i politely asked where my vest was and also why there was a button missing. The lady quite abruptly assured me that there was never a vest and issued me with the receipt as proof. Her argument was so convincing that even i questioned the whereabouts of the vest. As for the button she directed me to a sign which states that they take no responsibility in the safety of buttons - they did however eventually sew a button back on. As for the vest - i went back home to inspect my place for the blazer.. however i was sure i took it to the dry cleaners. I went back and after more reassurance from the lady that the vest was never dropped off.. long and behold the vest was there. I WONT BE RETURNING
I bought a 130 count wool suit about a year and this was the only dry cleaners I used for the history of the suit which I had dry cleaned about once a month due to my job in restaurants. Often the smells, heat and steam required me to dry clean it more than you would the average suit. Over time the suit began to get shinny. When I brought it to the attention of the dry cleaners they said they would make note of it. Yet still it came back with no change. They tried to write it off as it was in the areas of the suit that experience the most rubbing but in fact it was the same throughout the suit. After i repeated brought it to their attention they said they would send it off to the lab and it would take about a week. Three weeks later and me being the one having to repeated follow up with them instead of them calling me, they informed me that it was nothing they would do about it. This company is too large to care for individual garments and individual people. They are a massive company too big to care about the little guy. They lose one customer, they have hundreds more. They simply do not care.
Poor customer service and overpriced. Charged me $26.50 to dry-clean my SCARF. And when I asked them about pricing they clearly didn't understand my question because they started telling me about how they would follow the instructions on the label. I've been to much friendlier and cheaper dry cleaners. Never coming back.
Lawrence's Waterloo is cheap because they don't know how to treat clothes. The reality is they are the only dry cleaner close to home which forced me to use them until now. Most business shirt orders I had to ask them to re-press, as I would pick up my shirts with large creases on the front. It's not hard to see why - they only do the top button, causing the rest of the shirt front to flay open and then crease when they are stacked against other shirts while hanging. I have heard every excuse: "we don't do a second button", "it was pressed before you picked it up" so what?, to the classic "you're the only one who makes this complaint" as if I was delirious. They even had the gall to upsell me to dry cleaning my shirts so they get "individual attention"!! The final straw was when I came home and discovered TWO shirts came back with tears one in the armpit, another on the back, and a suit jacket sleeve was pressed so roughly that it tore at the crease. They never mentioned a thing - which tells me either they never paid enough attention to see the damage, or they did see and didn't want to own up to it. Either way, poor form. Yes they have a convenient driveway and price is OK, until you factor in your time, frustration and the replacement cost of all the items they will ruin.
Honestly the best dry cleaners I have ever seen. They are impeccable. The BEST alterations and customer service and cleaning of even the toughest materials. Genuinely wouldn’t trust anyone else - if you need anything done I could not recommend them enough. Just amazing :
