The Madden Club is 3RAR, "Old Faithful's" boozer and coffee shop. It has a great bunch of Diggers who work there. Lead by CPL Shelly as the current President of the Mess Committee PMC. This is run by the unit's injured Diggers. During my 35+ years service in our Army, each of the Battalions BNs I served with had a rehab Platoon PL, named after various unit personalities, 3RAR Madden PL, or battles, 1RAR Coral PL, 5RAR Binh Ba PL, 6RAR, Long Tan PL ect, ect. This way, the troops can put their passions toward the unit while they repair or transition into their next phase of their Military careers or life outside the service. I've seen some amazing work done by these buggers, they really hook in, to achieve the best results for their units. Thanks CPL Shelly for the 3RAR coolers and the chat we had over those beers last week. It ment a lot to this crusty old Ex SGT formally of Old Faithful.
