Story

Sydney's FIRST Laotian Restaurant!

Lao Village was first established in the early 80s by a group of young men looking for a place to hang out, they named this place 'Lao Refreshments' selling a little bit of this and a little bit of that. By 1983 all but 1 of the men wanted out of this business and the young man who did not want to sell was fortunate enough to buy out his 10 mates. After buying the business he decided to re-establish it as a restaurant specialising in authentic Lao and North Eastern Thai cuisine.

Today, the Restaurant is known as 'Lao Village' and it is now run by the son of that young man, whom cooks the exact same way with the exact same recipes as his father did (and has been doing so for over a decade now).

Great place to eat. The food seems to be a more authentic Thai / Lao home-style cuisine. Service was really good, and the menu was decently priced. Loved the fried quail and beef salad. We'll definitely come back!

This place is a locals' favourite. Authentic, good services and great foods! Definitely the number one choice for Laos foods in Sydney

Amazing every time, have been here when it was a little hidey hole, after the renos this place has definitely lifted their game. If your after authentic Lao cuisine, this is the only place I would recommend in Sydney. Always leaves me hungering for more, Lao paw paw salad a must try dish!

I have been here many times and each time is a disappointment. The customer service is terrible and they look like they don't want to serve you!!The food has been very average and inconsistent every time . I definitely don't recommend this place.

It was crowded when I visited there. The food is good, but the restaurant is a bit small
