I tried to enrol my child at Lanyon High School despite residing just outside the area. knowing they had space, our application was rejected by a letter without explanation, we were given the option to appeal, so we appealed with a supporting letter from our doctor however our efforts were met with the exact rejection letter, only differing in the date. I reached out to the enrolments office to understand why, but we were told they were busy with meetings all day, promising to return our call when available. Unfortunately, we never received that call despite leaving multiple messages. It's disheartening that securing a spot in a public school appears to be so challenging. It’s a shame that the two good reviews we received about this school were probably the only ones.
What is this Tomfoolery. This school is absolutely absurd! The student’s are wild. And, Can you believe they’re removing phones too? This isn’t 1888 anymore. I do not want to be looking at paper to find my next class. What if i get texted that somebody dangerous is arriving at the school but I have no phone to see and I get blown up? This is absolutely outrageous! Most teachers are chill. Too chill.
Students have absolutely disgusting behaviour and are rude and snobby, teachers are nice though. But overall there’s a massive issue with inappropriate phone use and children behaviour makes it super easy to make someone feel unsafe as they just do as they please, dont listen to teachers and carry on. Would never send my child here.
The student are really rude aragonite and loud they will not listen to the teachers and do whatever they like, Personally i think that the school values good relationships and the community more then the education they could do a bit better
Great School, other public high schools in Canberra could learn alot from Lanyon. Uniform is Mandatory , the School is Clean and the learning experience is overall much better.
