Excellent range - IF - big IF - you know where to look. Please install LARGE signs describing each part of your non-fiction shelves. That will increase ‘browsing success’. Not all browsers know what they are looking for. + What is that awful chemical smell? Carpet glue? I felt nauseous after just 5 minutes in your store today 24 Feb. 2023.
I've been buying from this Bookshop for 30+ years. Two weeks ago I placed an order for the new Robert Harris book. Yesterday I received a text telling me my order was in. I drove there only to be told there were eight copies and they were on special.order for people. Wasn't mine? I stopped at QBD in Innaloo and bought a copy on mob way home.
Love this bookstore, steps to go down, uneven flooring, nooks and crannies, perfect!!
I love spending time in here. A wide variety of special interest books available in little nooks for comfortable browsing. Prices are fair - yes you can buy cheaper online but remember that books can be damaged in transit and you completely miss the experience of shopping in-store and speaking with the passionate and wonderful people who run it, and can offer knowledge that an algorithm doesn't have. Highly recommend this place
The Lane Bookshop offers that rare privilege of browsing in a space that is filled with fascination. Books on fashion sit alongside treatises on philosophical thought, religious analyses and architectural volumes with breathtakingly sumptuous photographs. There are new novels. There are new children's books. books on travel, photography, art and books on music. There are calendars and books on cookery. Greek classics and Jane Austen. But it's the smell of paper that does it. It's alluring like the warmth of freshly ground coffee, the welcome of freshly sawn timber or the dusky whisper of a good cigar that broods its perfume. All these things are based on natural things made by man using nature to produce something beautiful and rich. In the case of what lane Bookshop offers, one is immersed in the craftsmanship of the pen and the immaculate production of the printing presses with the editors, artists, bindings and crafted paper to give us insight into the richness of life, presented in a space that sparkles with the best of civilisation's rich thoughts. A lovely place. Long may it prosper.
The staff were very helpful in finding the book I wanted. It also had a well stocked selection of books.
Best local bookstore bar none. Friendly and helpfull staff; great selection of common garden easy reading books as well as more unusual books often not found in 'chain bookshops'.
Gorgeous old fashioned but modern bookshop. The most delightful and helpful staff. Such an enjoyable experience. Thank you for enriching my 6yo son and my day today
We thoroughly enjoyed shopping there, service is fantastic and the book selection really good.
Enjoyable shopping experience, helpful staff and good range for the size of the store. Could be a little cheaper but considering the location and style of the shop I think it's to be expected.
