Story

Landcare is a volunteer movement where individuals and groups improve their local patch through hands-on action! A care group (Landcare, Coastcare, Wildcare, Bushcare, Friends of etc) usually starts when passionate locals share concerns about an environmental problem, then get together and do something about it. Landowners and communities drive on-ground change in places they value, improving soil health, water quality and wildlife habitat. Volunteers may be from the coast or the country, students or retirees, farmers or families. Landcare is a dynamic and credible movement with extensive networks across Tasmania, Australia – and beyond.
