Reviews
This is the ideal place to check out the history of the Wakatipu area. With it's rich gold mining history and the associated struggles to survive by the miners through to the farming and development of the area. There are a number of very good static displays, photographs and items of interest. They also have current exhibitions of arts and crafts that change on a regular basis along with a book shop, gift shop. The building housing the museum is historic in its own right and provides a great photo opportunity.

The best historical museum I've seen! The displays were done very well and professionally and whomever worked to get so many donations from the city's past was very successful. Everything meshed and told the story of the gold town days.

An adequately curated museum, given the space available, and the exhibits to be displayed. The museum seems bigger inside than it appears from the outside and was worth the entrance fee. Convenient for the bus, as well.

Awesome museum. My 5 year old grandson loved it, as did I.

Wonderful small museum. Though they charge 10 dollars admission fee, but it is worth.
