Very male friendly for men! A place where like men can meet and chill and enjoy a cold Bev or two. Enjoy karaoke or a boogie then this place has that too! Play pool and be made to feel welcome to join a game where you have just met the other guys. Good in summer or winter as in summer the garden courtyard caters a lovely environment or in winter the ambience of a nice crackling fire along with a nice drink and a chat with someone nice is ideal. Friendly non judgy people. Staff are great too!

In world that is changing so quickly it’s so reassuringly wonderful to find a place that doesn’t but remains fantastic. The laird has been around for a very long time as the guest comment book will attest. There are entries in there from 40 yrs ago . This place is a great place to stay wether alone or as a couple. Very good transport links for an easy journey from the city. Despite the decor being from the the late 70s early 80s the laird is well cared for and very clean . The showers are so powerful I was afraid my skin would bruise. I firmly believe places like the laird should be protected as an important piece of gay history and culture. Visit and stay at the laird guys !!! Just a quick addition, after reading the reply from the Laird . “ I love the Decor and it should stay original as possible “

I really appreciate this pub, I have never felt so welcomed. Being the last bar of it's kind that is even allowed to exist in Melbourne, it is almost a duty for everyone of it's target demographic to patronise this place. As a pub in of itself, it provides a relaxed atmosphere, with a pool table, ample seating and tables. They have some great local beers on tap. The bar staff are really cool and love having a chat while it's quiet. The beer garden out back is really nice too, providing a decent space to socialize and chill out. There are always events happening through out the week, such as pool competitions and trivia. Certain times there is a barber on site that provides well-priced haircuts and trims, which is always appreciated.

Love this place, it is my local but I have always been warmly welcomed even when I was a newbie to the country.Service: 5/5

The team at the Laird treat you well and help make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. I recommend you give the upstairs rooms a try as they are comfortable clean and with the train stop so close easy to get too. The different events downstairs allow you to meet new friends with various likes.

This venue is a jewel in Melbourne's LGBTQI+ crown. It identifies as a bear/cub/leather/fetish/alternative venue, and you'll find it very welcoming. It's the sort of place that you can enter for your first time and should feel confident approaching someone - patrons are a friendly bunch! This men-only venue has a number of regular and recurring events see their socials but is also perfect for a casual pot after work. There's a great beer garden, lively music, and pool tables.

Amazing and important space for the men in our leather community, run by two total legends! These guys do so much for the local scene, they must work their asses off. Several times a year The Laird also opens their space up to all genders, and these days are the best fun! I always feel so welcome. I never miss one. The beer garden also is top notch x
