La Macelleria delivers the best gelato I’ve found in Brisbane or possibly even Australia. The quality and flavours are outstanding, with friendly service. I normally can’t go past the Pistachio or Nocciola, but they always have a different special available. Absolutely loved the Strawberries and Cream special and would be so happy to see this permanently on the menu! The store in Teneriffe is lovely and tucked just up the street from restaurants and the riverwalk. Prices are very reasonable, and the scoops I find are always generous.
Really delicious ice cream that hit the spot on a hot day! The gentleman working there was super friendly and patient while we took forever to pick our flavours, helped us out with tasters, gave us some interesting history about the flavours and then even gave us a free little wafer topping for our tubs. Such a lovely experience all round :
I founded my love for salted caramel ice cream at this place about 7 years ago and to this day it is still one of the best salted caramel ice creams you can find. A good range of other options at reasonable prices. Highly recommend giving this place a crack.
I think it was the owner who served us. Passionate about the Gelato, very friendly and we could have any combination. I went for the pistacchio and chocolate - too good to delay for a photo so here's the result....
One of the best authentic gelato shops I’ve visited in Brisbane! From first arrival, the one staff that was on was super friendly and didn’t mind our indecisiveness. I was a bit thrown off that all the ice cream is covered, so it’s a bit harder to visually see what you want. For even the smallest size, you can choose 2 flavours- I thought it was great to get to taste more than one. For what you get, it is a bit more on the pricey side- and the sizes are a bit deceiving cup is smaller than outside length. However, I can’t complain because the taste and service was too good. I feel a sense of family and teamwork at this shop, and it makes me too feel welcomed! Hope to be back soon!
Nice ice cream, but nothing special. For the small portions and highish prices I was expecting something above average. I'm surprised by the other reviews being so high.
The shop has very efficient service. It also has two options for seating - inside and outside. The gelato is made locally. However there isn't a big variety of flavours. There are also only 3 sorbetti flavours which are vegan. The prices also vary by cup size small to maxi rather than by number of scoops.
Pretty good but not the best gelato in Brisbane. Tiramisu flavour was awesome. The rest two things, strawberry&chocolate, were not my cup of tea.
This is a must visit when you are in this part of town. You will get quite possibly the best and most authentic gelato in Brisbane. The gelato is super fresh with the most amazing flavours. I felt bad as I was very indecisive as this was my first visit but the attendant was patient and super helpful talking about the different flavours and offered me taste tests. I ended up getting probably two of their staple flavours - Fior Di Latte and Bacio which had whole not chopped or “flavouring”hazelnuts in the gelato which was a welcome surprise. I found the pricing to be very reasonable, especially for the quality. $8.50 for the large cup which you could have up to 3 flavours, and at first you might think that the sizes are on the smaller side, they are deceptively big and the large would be more than enough for even the biggest sweet tooth. Overall this was a great experience with the quality food and service but also the shop itself is welcoming, and I love that you can see into the kitchen and watch the making process.
Great gelato! Definitely one of the best in town! Wide selection! Only pity is difficult parking especially on the weekends.
