A good choice if you want something different in Randwick. Not quite the authentic flavors I was expecting but not a bad choice the Ceviche was fresh and made with lemon juice rather than lime . The staff are both friendly and helpful.
Had the Fish Ceviche and Papa Huancaina for Entree. Ceviche was packed with lime flavor, how it’s supposed to be, and delicious salsa picante to go with. The huancaina salsa was not disappointing at all! Better than expected for salsa huancaina made outside of Peru. The Carapulcra for main was good, the proteins could be cooked less but the stew was delicious! Chichamorada is sweetly authentic and has the spice flavor. We had the classico de dulces for dessert, again very good and not too sweet. Received complementary Picarones, the home made syrup and doughnut are both nice! Recommended for anyone looking for affordable and authentic Peruvian food in Sydney
Not only the best ceviche in Sydney, but the best Peruvian restaurant as well! Thank you
Great Peruvian food and excellent service. Make sure you have enough money as the mains start at 22 AUD approximately.
Excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. Ate till I felt like I was going to bust. Loved the hummus and bread and all the other menu items that came with my veggie sampler meal. Friendly and quaint. Never felt rushed to eat and get out, so we enjoyed our meal and had an enjoyable time talking and visiting.
Authentic Peruvian food. The lamb seco was delicious so too the ceviche. Portions are a decent size and we were served within 15 minutes of ordering. The waitresses were very attentive and friendly and we were not pushed to order, eat and get going. The restaurant is cosy rather than "fancy" and it's also BYO wine only which was great. Splitting the bill between 10 of us was no problem. Perfecto!
Looked on the website, google and Facebook all of which stated this place opened at 5:30pm. Traveled an hour to get to the place and it was closed at 5:50pm. Called the number provided, number didn't work but voicemail stated to call a mobile number. The owner seemed to answer and said "We are opened come in" as we arrived he was turning on the lights and putting out the signs. Inside the restaurant looked horrible, no Peruvian atmosphere and the walls had dirty old white paint with cracks everywhere. Sat down on a table and the first thing the owner said is "Sorry about the table" unsure what he meant by that but when i looked on the floor there was chewing gum and all sorts of other rubbish behind my table. Anyway about 15 minutes later his "waitress" walked in. I decided to order one of my favorite dishes the "Lamb Seco" - owner then said to me "are you sure you want to order that why don't you get the Lomo instead as it will take only 10 mins to prepare rather than half an hour". I refused and said no i will get the Lamb. So we ordered 2 of the lamb and 1 ceviche. We were the only ones there at this point and half an hour later we were still waiting for our food. The waitress then brought out some Yucca fries and said "this is free". About 10 minutes later another man walked in - asked for a table and ordered. His food came out within 10 minutes while we were still waiting. I got angry then and asked when out food was coming out - the waitress didn't understand me so I had to repeat myself. She said about 5 minutes. 10 minutes later the Ceviche came out. Luckily it tasted good. Finally the lamb came out, looked good presentation wise. Tasted good but it had no flavor, supposed to taste like peas but there was no sign of peas in the dish. Another family came in and had ordered a coke. I saw the waitress looking for a glass in the back room and she looked and kept putting the glass down, assuming that they were dirty - she ended up just taking one from another table. We then ordered the Piccarones which is a main reason why we went to this restaurant. When they came out they were burnt and tasted very salty? like the inside mixture was off or something. Having family from Peru myself and have traveled to Peru this restaurant was a absolute embarrassment to the culture and i am not sure how they are still in business. Would not recommend unless you like waiting over an hour for your meal.
Delicious Peruvian traditional cuisine. Pleasant colourful setting. Friendly staff and prompt service, good value for money. The Spicy Ceviche is a must. Also tried the Papa Rellenas beef croquette which was delicious. Would definitely like to come back soon.
The worst service I have ever seen in a restaurant. It took an hour to get our starters, in which time we where ignored. We didn't receive half our order or our drinks. Plus the food was overpriced, under seasoned and not a real representation of peruvian food. The only saving grace was the ceviche which was decent. We will never eat here again
Absolutely TERRIBLE restaurant, don't waste your money. We ordered the BBQ for 2 people to be delivered and were totally disgusted at the pitiful amount of food that we received for $50!!! The order we received was missing most of the food on the menu, it was literally enough for one person not two. We requested a refund and had to battle it out with the owner who would not take responsibility for such disgraceful service to customers. We will never EVER eat here again and I highly suggest everyone who is reading this to not waste their money or time. Such a disappointment!!!
