Well the day has finally come...driving past earlier today and the shop is now permanently closed with a large sign saying the owner has finally retired...chalk up another tragic 2020 milestone. I will miss their eclairs, danishes and French vanilla slices, twas second to none. Honestly, I will salivate and lust after many of their baked treats for several years to come as I fondly recall the many visits.
Delicious pastries and pies, friendly staff! Gave my little boy a free cookie, too. Not open Sundays, btw!
The Palmier and Paris Brest I tried was a good reminder that quality pastries can be found anywhere, the bakery reminded me of traditional French bakeries, not only was the food scrumptious but the smell of butter and pastries was perfection. Absolutely recommend this bakery.
Delicious food and lovely people. An authentic french experience for sure. Everything i have eaten from La Brioche has been superb, from the croissants to the sourdough bread if you are early and lucky enough to get some You can even practise your french on Maxine, she doesnt mind how much you mangle the language!
OMG! Egg and bacon quiche is something you have to double order on! I moved to croydon 13 months ago and found this place in the MOST random spot... But it has a following you would never expect. Sold out of things so quick I now phone order a day before so I can sleep in. I had their hot cross buns for the first time this year and they have so much flavour. Don't expect a ritzy bakery experience, this is just good food, basic outdoor only couple of tables but I have never had a better croissant anywhere else and I would argue that you haven't either. Love this place and will travel back here if I move away.
The sweet patisserie range is excellent, but I’ve discovered that the unsung heroes here are the savoury pies. Duck confit and vichyssoise tourtes alongside meat pie classics, made with buttery flaky pastry... divine.
This is by far the finest pastry shop in Australia. No doubt about it, other patisseries could learn a thing or two from the delightful owners. It is such a shame i only found them 8 years ago.
A french patisserie of the finest quality. Se magnificentcant spell magnifique chicken chasseur and beef bourguignon pies served to you by real french people. How good is that!
Choc. ganache Wedding Cake was a disappointment! Decoration was not what I ordered, the icing had small lumps of unsifted icing sugar.... choc. ganache doesnt have icing sugar in it!! was told names would be piped but came on a plaque!!!! Looked like a girls 16yr old birthday cake. Petit fours were great.
