One of the top bakeries in Canberra.nnLately most bakeries have been cutting the chunky steak down in their chunky steak pies, but this place has really kept them amazing.nnThe sausage rolls are not too oily and the desserts will make you forget your diet.nnI haven't had the bread, but I'm a serial pie lover.nnIf you have small kids, get a pastry and a coffee, sit down on a bench and let your kids run around the play equipment.
L'épi Artisan Bakery is located in the heart of the Kambah shops opposite Woolworths supermarket, and whilst only a small shop front, offers an amazing selection of fresh breads, including a good variety of sourdough, sweet pasties, tarts, small and large cakes, hot pastries and pies,nnThe coffee beans used are from local roasters ONA and the coffee served is excellent. You can purchase the beans along with a few Italian items available on the shelves.nnThere are a couple of small tables if you'd like to dine in the bakery. Otherwise the order is to go outside.nnWorth a visit for your daily bread or for some treats.
I recently discovered Lepi, a charming French-style cafe with a delightful range of offerings beyond coffee. Their artisan baked goods impressed me, especially the popular Pistachio and Honey cake, which I devoured on my birthday - absolutely divine! nnThe staff's warmth and cheerfulness added to the experience. Located in Kambah Village Shop and the other outlet at Chrisholm Village Shop.nnLepi is perfect for celebrations with its varied cakes, specialty breads, pastries, and pies. I'm eager to explore more of their treats soon! Update to my first post, can confirm the sourdough bread is excellent, very flavoursome with a good crumb without being too dense or sour. Was a bit too much as sandwich bread sliced thick but probably fine with a thinner cut. Made great toast. Have tried the country sourdough and the wholemeal. Probably preferred the wholemeal. The baguettes are delicious, perfect combination of a chewy crust and soft bread inside and they freeze well if you don’t get through it all. The sausage rolls are very good, as are the chunky beef and plain beef pies.nnWandered past and saw this place packed with people. Had two pepper pies - perfect pastry perfect pepperiness and big chunks of tender meat. Will definitely return because the pastries and bread looks fantastic.
