One of the nicest bakery interactions I have ever experienced. The owner was so sweet, it made my day.nnThe cheesecake was really nice but the trio chocolate mousse was the stand out. So fluffy and creamy whilst not being too rich.nnI highly recommend!!!
Lovely young lady serving behind the counter, so service was great. Unfortunately it was all down hill from there :nnA dried out even cracked quiche at the top, with a soggy middle and such an oily base it literally fell apart in my hands….VERY disappointing as this is supposed to be my local bakery…nnCouldn’t eat it dogs loved it though so that’s a waste of $7.90….
I was excited to visit L’Epi in Kambah. I had just returned from France and wanted to find a place that had excellent croissants and pain au chocolat. The little cafe was charming and the server that assisted was lovely. As others mentioned, the ONA coffee is delicious and expertly made. I was a little worried that when I entered the bakery, I smelled absolutely nothing. I expected to smell things baking in ovens. But I ordered two croissants, plain and chocolate, coffee and a sourdough baguette. Coffee was amazing. The baguette was crispy, flavourful and delicious. However, the croissants were dry and, for me, almost inedible. Honestly, if you are going to charge $7 for something, it better be fresh and delicious. I went to Lune in Melbourne this past weekend and the croissants were off the charts. Maybe it was an off day. I’d be happy to go back to L’Epi if I could be assured of a better product. I’m not griping. I just think if you are going to call yourself an artisan bakery, you better deliver.
L'épi Artisan Bakery is located in the heart of the Kambah shops opposite Woolworths supermarket, and whilst only a small shop front, offers an amazing selection of fresh breads, including a good variety of sourdough, sweet pasties, tarts, small and large cakes, hot pastries and pies,nnThe sourdough loaves are amazing good with good texture and flavour, with a natural unprocessed feel.nEnjoy the pastries and the cakes. They are also wonderful.nnThe coffee beans used are from local roasters ONA and the coffee served is excellent. You can purchase the beans along with a few Italian items available on the shelves.nnThere are a couple of small tables if you'd like to dine in the bakery. Otherwise the order is to go outside.nnWorth a visit for your daily bread or for some treats.
Coffees are smooth and awesome, honestly better than the other branch. Pie was okay, too.nnSitting outside, the atmosphere was a bit hit-and-miss because of the construction around the shops not really their fault.nnCan recommend this place.
