will say that the service is good, friendly and easy to approach. About ramen, doesn't taste as good as it looks...the flavor was bland, not very tasty, it lacked depth on the palette, the broth is hot, but that's about it. The flavoring is lacking some intensity.. . I probably wont be back because of the lack of flavors. Very dissapointed
Should have just stayed home and had the sub par ramen that I can uber without having to put pants on and drive 40mins to the city and another 20 trying to find parking Ramen was like a watery broth, eggs were slightly powdery also disappointed they weren't pickled , karage was burnt and my friends pork ramen was lacking pork. Overall disappointing experience..
I ordered the bowl of Tonkotsu ramen, but my first preference was the cold udon! Which was on the menu, but it wasn’t available for some odd reason. Maybe it’s best to remove it from the display? The ramen was delicious, a little too creamy, though lacking pork bone flavour in the broth, a little bland but I had to add the chilli powder to add taste although the ramen noodles was super delicious, it was springy and soft, it had the perfect texture. Costed me $14.06 pretty cheap in comparison to other ramen restaurants in the CBD. I would recommend this restaurant though, I would try something else on the menu next time, hopefully this time it will be available
I dont feel any difference of this stall compared with the ordinary sushi shop. It was just ok.
Would’ve said the food was good but they put a piece of chicken in my agedashi tofu. I’m sure it was an accident since they look very similar but it’s still pretty irresponsible and poor service. Fair warning to make sure what you got is what you ordered if you have different dietary requirements like I do. Vegetarian options: Not very safe if you’re vegetarian. Poor cross contamination policies. Dietary restrictions: Not very safe if you have dietary restrictions. Poor cross contamination policies evidently
Awful. The mixed tempura couldn't be called tempura - it was soggy scraps of veggies in what seemed like old rancid oil. The agadashi tofu was broken misshapen bits of tofu, fried. Nothing delicate here. No hot tea available either. I last came here around 3 years ago and loved it... this was just dreadful and I won't be returning.
Absolutely dreadful. Let’s down spice alley’s reputation. Possibly one of the worst Japanese I have had in Sydney . Rancid oil on gluggy tempura, bones and gristle in karage . Miso soup served in a take out plastic container was the weirdest looking I have ever seen! Couldn’t bring myself to even try it.
This is peak 'mock' Japanese food. The noodle is over boiled, the soup is not a bone broth it's just a pain seasoned soup, the soy sauce egg is over cooked with a dry yolk and it slid out of the egg white. Getting order wrong from start to, midway through prepping they asked me and at pick up it's still wrong. Charged me for two mains... language barrier was the main issue.
Love me some ramen. Love the hidden courtyard feel of this place. Love that they only serve one drink and that's a Japanese beer. Go here, bring your kids, there's a lot to love. which you may have guessed Authentic food in a not quite over gentrified space. Konichi wah wah Naruto lovers!
Ordered Ebi ramen with the tempura prawns. Service was quick - but the prawns were still frozen in the inside! The ramen broth was the blandest I’ve ever tasted. Egg was nice but not marinated. Overall very disappointing
