My wife had the misfortune of being referred to the Kyneton Hospital with severe abdominal pain. Unpleasant nursing staff started a saline drip to rehydrate her, but before it was half way through the drip was removed and my wife was told to go to the waiting room and call someone to pick her up. All the efforts had to be directed to someone that was bought in suffering from alcohol and drug issues. Pretty common in rural areas these days, apparently.nLater that night my wife was taken to Ballarat hospital and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and blocked bile ducts. She was put on intravenous anti-biotics and other medications, such as major pain killers. She underwent urgent surgery to remove her gall bladder once the pancreatitis had been bought under control.nI know the health system in Australia/Victoria is in freefall, I don't know what the answer is to that. But, being treated by nursing staff as if you are an inconvenience to them and having someone turned out of health care when their life is at risk isn't acceptable in any Australian health care system. If Kyneton health care is in such an awful state, close it down and send the resources to bigger hospitals to enable them to provide care to whoever needs it.
I recently attended Kyneton Hospital for laprascopic surgery. As a theatre nurse myself I was throughly impressed with the care given from such a small hospital. It definitely has its perks being a smaller hospital, with very highly trained professionals who work so well as a team together. They were very accommodating, empathetic and skilled. Not that a hospital is what I usually recommended, but I couldn't recommend Kyneton Hospital enough, and would be comfortable having any family member at this hospital knowing they will receive the best care!
We have the most wonderful experience at Kyenton Health urgent care, the whole team that was on whom helped us out were amazing we can not thank you all especially our nurse Sheryl who made a stressful situation a easy situation by being very down to earth with usnnThank you again
I cannot believe the customer service! I accompanied my son to Kyneton hospital yesterday for some tests. He was there for about three hours and he was treated like royalty. The staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming. The nursing staff are reassuring and kind. I live in Melbourne but if I ever needed hospital care, and I pray I never do, I would pay to be transported to Kyneton Health. Thank you to the admin and nursing staff for your kindness. You are true gems.
I was admitted by ambulance to Kyneton Hospital about 5:00am this morning the nurses were very professional. I was impressed with the level of care I received. I might get sick again just to go back.
