Kyabram Fauna Park

Story

Started in 1976; the Kyabram Fauna Park has grown extensively to become the second largest collection of Australian Fauna in Victoria. Home to over 700 individual animals, including Koalas, Alpine Dingoes, Owls, Snakes, Wombats, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Tasmanian Devils, Cockatoos, Parrots, Waterfowl, Cranes, Finches, Lizards and many more, the park is a truly natural experience. With a large walk thru aviary; Australia’s first energy efficient reptile house, wetland viewing hides and an observation tower that overlooks the expansive park surrounds, we make observing wildlife ‘a walk in the park’.

Located in the Goulburn Valley of Northern Victoria and set amongst a wide variety of Australian flora, the Park covers some 55 hectares of open woodland, wetlands and lakes. Rehabilitation of degraded lands and re-vegetation programs for many areas of the park have provided habitats which now attract over 140 species of native birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. Add 145 species of Australian mammals, birds and reptiles, which form the Park’s permanent exhibits and you have an outstanding and unique community project unlike any other in Australia!

Twilight Nights at the Fauna Park are amazing! There's so much more activity from the animals, I definitely hope they do it again next year because I'll be going!

Place has a great concept but is not maintained very well. However a trip to see and interact with cockatoos would b great for children.A lot can be done to make the place a better attraction.

You cant go to ky and not check out the fauna park. Its a great local attraction and the kids will love it. Emus and kangaroos everywhere. Oh and dont forget that cheeky cocky at the front. Pretty sure i heard a bit of cussing coming from that beak.

Great fun being able to touch a koala and the talking cockatoo was the highlight of the day. Great for my 4 and 6 year old boys to awesome Aussie animals.
