Staff were welcoming and helpful. There is a self-paced audio guide that was informative and interesting and really brought to life the discovery process with personal stories and accounts of each fossil. We were all pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality and sheer size of the exhibits. Definitely worth the drive.
A great find in Richmond. Recommend watching the 15 minute video first as an introduction to the museum. Then, meander your way through with the self guided audio tour. Lots of interesting information that is explained well. Fossils are obtained from the local area and are big, they are incredible and almost entirely intact. Obviously set up and run by very passionate people.
Museum just impressed me! You can watch short video, where more explained about dinosaurs . So good, so realI even afraid go out after!. Provide portable audio equipment. Toilet, Cafe, souvenir shop, plenty of parking. And very knowledgeable staff, very friendly and helpful.
We loved this place. There is a video to watch in the theatre at the start which was so fascinating about where all the bones were found and people's stories who found them. There are 3 rooms with fossils as well as a viewing area to see how they clean the fossils before putting up on display. Costs was reasonable and gets thumbs up that it included 3 kids in the family costs rather than needing to pay for that extra child on top of the family ticket. There is a fossil area you can go digging in about 12.5kms out of town and you buy a permit at the museum for $5 a car. Totally worth the stop. We spent about an hour here.
Richmond archeologist paelentologist was still working away at his dinosaur bones when we were there on Sunday...what a fantastic display of dinosaurs and as you arrive you get given your own hand-held device and you go to each display and you have the curator telling each story...go and see the movie first and take your time approx 1hr and a half to really enjoy the experience...although you could look around in less time...we thoroughly enjoyed all the work they have put into the whole display
Life could be tough if you live with those wonderful creatures. Couldn’t help wondering what magic time can do, time created those wonderful creatures, time killed them, time created us; when will our time end then? A good place to let your mind get lost in time…
WOW WOW WOW...finally got to cross RICHMOND'S Dinosaurs off our bucket list and 10/10 for their awesome arrays of fossilised dinosaurs and other exhibits. 3 exhibit areas, movie to watch, tourism items & momentos to buy, top cafe to eat at very friendly staff. Children will love it. Walking distance from RV camp sites. Do yourself a favour and do the triangle of the Dinosaur discovery trail. Passes available to buy cheaper if you pay for the 4 sites up front. Just inspires you to go for a fossil dig and see what you can uncover.

Interesting place, but overpriced to go through
Really loved all the wonderful displays here, as all genuine fossils and not mock ups. Good film, great audio handsets and a decent cafe as well. Better than Winton maybe?!
