Having dined at Koi Experiential for all three 'phases' thus far i can definitely say each time i have been blown away by the amount of talent, attention to detail and creativity that is behind every dish presented. Reynold and his team were professional and made the experience feel so special. Each phase was a perfect reflection of the current season, starting with tasty bite size snacks to finishing off with mind blowing desserts that were not only aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but the kind of dishes that leave you saying 'wow' after eating them. I've eaten at fine dining restaurants around the world and can say that the technique and creativity behind these dishes are on par, if not even better than a lot of the top restaurants that i have been to. Having seen the Experiential menu improve and grow with each phase, i will definitely be back to try each menu as it changes. I really could not recommend this experience enough to anyone who is lucky to get their hands on a booking!
Have visited Koi several times since it opened, but this was the first, going to try to Experimental Menu. A combination of savoury snacks and desserts. Over the years, can see improvements in the techniques, thoughtfulness, delivery and quality of the dishes. Most of the dishes were executed perfectly and some of the desserts are on par to renowned restaurants. There were some minor faults in the balance of flavours or the utensils used such as the small hammer spoon for the egg dish, which left the nest difficult to eat. Would come back and definitely recommend others to give it a try. A new and refined experience compared to before.
FOOD Best dessert I ever had. I had the watermelon my favourite fruit. A bit pricey but it's all worth it. SERVICE No issue. Staff are nice. PLACE Nice and clean place. You just have to walk further from Spice Alley.
Very well decorated and presented desserts. The quality was also good but the prices are way higher for a piece of cake than a normal dessert bar. I bought a matcha slice for $28. The taste was not really out of the world but was still pretty good for a usual dessert. Not a place to visit very frequently.
Visited this place due to the overwhelming recommendations. It’s hands down the best dessert place I’ve ever been. Imagine a 5 star hotel but dessert equivalent. Service & atmosphere was great as well, shop location is also great as it’s not in the middle of everything like Chinatown
Absolutely beautiful desserts that are created with extreme attention to detail and flavour. The staff was super friendly and their recommendations were spot on. There is a small seating area outside where you can enjoy these beautiful works of art but the place does get busy so might not find a seat. Alittle bummed that they aren't currently doing their tasting menu but will be back in March to try it out. Definitely a place worth a visit for a nice dessert and coffee or to pick up a treat for an occasion
This is a review of the September Experiential Menu. Firstly let me preface that none of the meals were bad, and overall it was a good experience. However there were a lot of issues and for the price I don't think it was worth it. I understand that the menu changes throughout the seasons and that we were I believe only the 3rd night of this menu. As a result I'd say most of the dishes had small problems that may improve. Standout positives included petals, egg, yellow and typical. Negatives was definitely the chawanmushi, which also had the issue of being the last savoury due to an oven problem and that was a hard switch to dessert after. Also, bubbles needs a spoon. They end up sinking and being the last thing you eat, which doesn't reset the palette. The rest of this dishes fell somewhat in between. Lastly I just want to mention that if you're going to do late seatings, at least give time at the end to relax, digest a little. We received the bill before our wine glass was empty and it was obvious they wanted to close quickly. I really wanted to like this event. Unfortunately it's fine dining pricing without the fine dining and I can't recommend it. But everyone has their own thing, and I'd love to see this place do well.
Good dessert and good coffee. I liked how the flavours weren’t too sweet or overpowering each other. A place worth trying out for dessert. The staff could’ve been a bit more vibrant and friendly instead of the getting cold stares for being indecisive as a first time visitor.
One of the best deserts I ever had, not so sweet. Love that Ruby yogurt cake. Staffs were very friendly. Coffees were great. Plenty of off street parking available on a Saturday afternoon which is a bonus.
It is located on the back street. Easy to miss. Parking can be difficult as there is no parking lot nearby. Seating available inside for plenty of people. The desserts are really good. Staff are very friendly and service is quite quick. Prices are on the higher side. Would visit once in 2-3 months for those special occasions.
