Have been coming up 3 hrs for intense scans for my second pregnancy and I was so nervous about starting again with a new hospital with my condition but honestly I MASSIVE shout out to Jan & Sue in imaging. You both ladies have no idea how much of an impact you made on someone’s visit or anxiety levels. Even though this pregnancy has been so scary and unpredictable as they are, I’m so glad I’m under your wings and being taken care from you. You guys are miracle workers and you make the 3 hr trips a little less stressful
This is my second time to be hospitalized in King Edward. This time I feel relieved and I also feel the care and concern of the midwife! They are really nice and professional! I am really grateful to my midwife who took care of me during my 4 days in hospital. Sue, Kelly, Ellie, Helenn, Anna. Especially Sue, she makes me feel like a mother, I like her very much! Always giving me hugs and encouragement! There is also Helen, who is also a very good midwife and the one who took care of me twice! I am so grateful to the hospital team! Thank you.
I’m still in fortnightly therapy after the trauma of my birth here. Severely convinced into an induction, followed by non consensual physical interventions, a failed epidural that the midwife didn’t notify anaesthetics for, and more, all ending in an emergency caesarean under general anaesthetic. So many things could have been avoided.nnThis doesn’t include the pregnancy appointments where you wait 3+ hours to see your midwife/doctor each time. I would never birth here again.
Just wanted to thank the entire team at KEMH.nnFrom the beginning of our pregnancy journey we had fantastic continuous care from the MGP5 practice with Stef Loch as our midwife. We felt we won the lotto being partnered off with Stef, from the first appointment / chats we knew she was the midwife for us making us feel welcomed and comfortable. Knowing she was available or on call for any of our questions or needs takes a lot of stress off first time parents.nnMy partner went in with pre-eclampsia and had a 2 week stay to control her BP. The constant monitoring and check up from the nurses and doctors was second to none. The nurses are so kind and we really built some fantastic relationships with each and everyone of them. Shout out to Ward 5!nnBub was then born via C section and the theatre team were amazing! Considering the cards we were dealt with and it not being the pregnancy you plan in your head, everything was brilliant. We felt comfortable and safe going into the birth, throughout the birth and the recovery.nnBub then stayed in NICU for 2 and a bit weeks and the NICU team are absolute angels. Their care to our bub and the other bubs in the ward is beautiful. We are so thankful for all the help they gave us, all the tips on how to be first time parents.nnThank you from the bottom of our hearts KEMH, we are forever grateful for the care, professionalism and love you showed for my partner, myself and little one.
BE WARY of this place!nTreated like you’re just a number in the pregnancy clinic.nMy assigned Dr was not compassionate; she even asked me if I wanted to have an abortion at my first appointment just because I expressed that I was having a difficult pregnancy! I was about 16 weeks & still sick then I think. She also falsely represented me talked about me negatively to the Psychiatric Consultant! Uncaring attitude by 2 doctors that saw me there. 1 fill-in Dr was nice enough at my last appointment.nThe worst was the Psychiatric Consultant- She would NOT listen to me. It was all her way & she was so arrogant and thought she knew everything. Eg: apparently in her mind, because she has seen most women’s mental health get worse in later pregnancy- that supposedly means that happens to everyone! Met her briefly only 3 times. Worst attitude Ive ever seen in mental health. She even lied about me and falsely accused me of my mental health deteriorating- and lied & said I wasn’t taking my medication properly- but I was- it was only ever prescribed to be taken as I NEEDED!nShe even told these lies TO CHILD PROTECTION ! when my mental health had actually improved enormously! & so she has made the last months of my already difficult pregnancy- an EXTREMELY STRESSFUL experience!nDon’t trust them.nI transferred myself to FIONA STANLEY & my Dr is so much better and more caring!nI don’t just feel like a number there.nThe only thing that King Edward was good for was diagnosing me at their emergency department at about 5 weeks pregnant with “hormone induced anxiety“ & prescribed me with Olanzapine & Lorazepam to take as needed. It helped me at that time to be able to cope & to keep my baby -and calmed the torturous hellish tormenting experience that I get in early pregnancy.
