While our experience with Kilvington's Early Learning Centre ELC was positive, our encounter with the Prep year left us thoroughly disappointed. Initially drawn to Kilvington due to the amiable teachers in the ELC, our journey took an unexpected turn.nnA concerning incident arose when another child falsely accused my daughter of intentionally hitting her. Shockingly, the teacher failed to conduct a proper investigation and denied my daughter the opportunity to explain herself. Instead, she hastily imposed punishment on my child on two consecutive days. It was only later, through my daughter's account, that we learned she had been penalized for something she didn't do.nnIn our attempt to rectify the situation, we engaged in email communication with the teacher, presenting the true version of events. We requested a reinvestigation of the incident and, if necessary, an apology from the other child. Regrettably, the teacher displayed a lack of concern and dismissed our pleas, seemingly favoring the other child.nnFrustrated by the teacher's indifference, we escalated the matter to the head of the junior school. Despite our efforts, there was no resolution, and our request to transfer to another Prep class was coldly rejected. This unyielding stance, coupled with the apparent favoritism towards the other child, has left us disheartened.nnChoosing Kilvington was based on its proximity, and we were willing to invest in the high private school fees with the expectation that the school, despite its size, would prioritize student well-being. Unfortunately, our experience has not aligned with this expectation, leaving us thoroughly disappointed with Kilvington.nnAs parents, we believe that the fees paid should not only cover the academic aspects but also ensure that our child is treated fairly and has an equal opportunity to thrive in the school community. This incident has highlighted a significant gap between the expected standards and the actual treatment received.nnWe moved to a different school now and more than happy.
