A great facility to watch sports from.nEase of access at ground level.nClose to public transport, a short 5 minute walk.
Excellent views all around. Don't be put off by 'restricted view' seats at the netball. The restriction is minimal. Noisy home crowd for swift games. It is a bit of a journey from the Eastern suburbs
Great venue for tennis. The stadium is a lot bigger than it appears on the outside. Located within the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, this arena hosts the United Cup among other events. Stadium seat is tiered well so views of the court are not obstructed. Seats aren’t as comfy for the upper sections however the lower seats do have armrests and cup holders. The stadium is easy to navigate, doors closest to the entrance are L and M. Sections A- D are accessible after M section, it’s quicker than walking all the way around.nThe outdoor section is pretty cool with seats set up to view the big screen. Plenty of food vendors as well, prices are on the expensive side which is expected at these sporting events.nParking is a trek to this arena, P3 and P4 are the closest but still a 10-15min walk as they are just over a kilometre away from the stadium. A shuttle bus is offered from P5 and the train station. Priority parking at P7 which is about 200 metres from the entrance is offered but it needs to be booked in advance as the display ticket is sent via post and must be clearly visible on the car dash.
We watched netball matches here. The seating positions allows you to view the game even if there is a tall person in front. There is also a big screen if you want to look there but why go to a live game to watch from the screen. Toilets are decent enough. All food is sold outside the stadium a little in the steeper side eg. hot chips can set you back $13. It is in Sydney Olympic park which has paid parking nearby or you can try your luck on the street which offers up to 2 hrs free.
Before Australian Open we went to watch United Cup here in this stadium. Different countries compete as a team and was lucky to see Angie one of my favourite, Sasha, Hubert, zigs, Garcia,De Minnuar, etc in action. Well organized event , good audience, security & great ambiance, only the washrooms for ladies so less only 1 & 5 toilets…can anyone imagine the line one has to wait forwhereas the guys had 3separate washrooms.. not FAIRnA 94 year old lady had come to watch the finals & stayed full awake for 4-5 hours .. such resilience . Please never buy tickets in the front row. Big BIG VIDEO cameras blocked all my viewing. Why do they even sell that row’s ticket.
