The worst painter I have ever used. Careless and lazy. Dried paint flakes on the roller went straight onto the walls with no attempt to clean the roller. I have since sanded some of the walls back and repainted them myself. I asked for acrylic gloss on the skirtings, door and window surrounds and all the doors. Instead he provided semi-gloss for walls, a totally different product. I discovered when he first started painting the skirtings that he was using a 3 inch brush that was over loaded and swollen with paint and proceeded to paint a 1cm border around the edge of the carpet in the master bedroom. I had to cut the pile off the carpet with a razor blade to remove the paint and then scrape the remaining paint lumps from the face of the skirting boards. I brought this to his attention and he stated that there was no other way he could paint the skirtings [???]. I offered him the use of a plastic straight-edge blade to pull the carpet pile back from the skirting, but he refused to use it. I then offered him the use of an expensive gloss brush with a tapered edge, he also refused to use this. I had to strongly instruct him NOT TO PAINT THE CARPET. I discovered after he left that all 'semi-gloss' surfaces were left with deep and obvious brush marks and also globs of paint in areas he thought I wouldn't see like the tops of the door surrounds. I will now have to spend time sanding back the surfaces and re-coating with the correct paint and correct brush. I discovered later that his 'wrong' choice of semi-gloss instead of gloss enabled him to run the same swollen, overloaded, three inch brush 1.5 inches up the freshly painted walls which he thought I wouldn't notice. This saved him time, but left a semi-gloss border at the bottom of all the walls instead of the fresh low-sheen. I will now have to repaint the border around the bottom of all walls. The end result is a disaster. He happily took his $4,000. Don't go anywhere near this person.
