4.5/5 Kelso’s is one of the OG sandwich shops in Melbourne, having opened in 2016 before any of us anticipated the sandwich craze of 2022. Their menu has a wide variety of options, ranging from brekky, chop cheese baguettes, burgers, fresh and toasted sandwiches and other sides like housemade pickles and fries! I had the Brekkie Burger - fried egg, bacon or mushroom, hashbrown, pickles, BBQ sauce and cheese. Come before 10am and they’ll add a free coffee! It was a great size, freshly made, the bun was soft, the hash brown and bacon were both really crispy and had a good crunch to them, the egg was nicely fried. The only criticism I’d make is that there wasn’t enough sauce I’m a sauce fiend and it was a little oily but I guess that’s expected given the ingredients. I highly recommend paying them a visit, I feel they deserve more recognition. I suggest taking a jacket though because they only have outdoor seating and this cold is no joke
I really enjoyed the chopped cheese sandwich and the kids enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich. Coffee was surprisingly great. Perfect for takeaway and eating at Victoria Park watching the dogs playing. Service was excellent.
Excellent comfort food style sandwiches! The fresh smoked chicken sandwich had a lovely kick from the caramelised pineapple and Mayo. The breakfast toastie was huge, cheesy and perfect for a cheat day. Will try the rest next time!
So glad to have Kelso's in my neighbourhood. The Tuck Shop on Rye is one of my favourite sandwiches, anywhere!

Excellent sandwiches, I'd highly recommend the chop cheese. Limited seating here if you want shade, but there is often spots available outside in the sun.Food: 5/5
Died and went to cheese toastie heaven. Delicious. Great service with a smile, nice waiting area with the record shop playing some great tunes next door. Good coffee too.
Great sandwich shop with a great vibe. Good menu with good variety and really well made and thought out sandwiches and burgers. The flavours are awesome! Service leaves a little to be desired but it's not bad, just not great. It won't get in the way of a yummy treat though. Definitely worth a visit
Honestly, this place is a victim of it's own success. Their attention to detail and customer service is poor. There's usually 5 bodies in there, three of which are working and two spend their day hipster prancing. Twice they have got my order wrong and now I'm done. It doesn't matter how good the burgers are, if the order is wrong, the point is moot.
Nothing hits the spot like a Chop Cheese and Chips. Was great when eat-in was available, but is still perfect now to have a bite while sitting at Victoria Park. Coffee’s always fantastic too!
