Came in to discuss the safety and comfort of a student in private due to past instances. I was unaware of the school policies, as I am not the parent. But as a legal guardian I wanted to do what I can to better their day to day in school. But the receptionist lacked empathy and understanding when I was trying to talk to her, nor did they offer me any advice or help me contact someone. All she told me was that it wasn't her problem and I can't do anything because it should be a discussion between the student and house group. Which is super disappointing to hear such lack of support from a school. All she did for me was note down my phone number and said someone will call me back. Take this into consideration when enrolling your child into a school lacking empathy and compassion to raise and take care of your students.
I studied at this school from 1992-1997...not a bad school if you keep to yourself and mind your own business without getting involved in those gang related fights. If you are eager to learn then teachers are there to help out. If you don't care then neither do the teachers. Don't expect miracles because after all this is not a private school where parents give the money and their kids get their high scores. I graduated in 1997 and entered Monash Uni and completed my Science/Engineering major.
This is the best school in the area! PLEASE Don't listen to the negatives. It deserves a big 5 stars for the award-winning and best school in the area! It's truly remarkable how they excel in their complete disregard for the well-being of students! And let's not forget the runner-up award for teachers who are absolute masters at failing to establish any meaningful connections with their students. It's truly an art to be able to make students feel completely isolated and unimportant. They also deserve recognition for their outstanding ability to rush through grading SACs and tests. I must say, truly impressive time management skills. And let's not overlook their next award for teachers who have perfected the art of not teaching what's actually on the SACs while private schools effortlessly do so and boost study scores. It's truly awe-inspiring how they manage to miss the mark and leave their students unprepared and in the lower percentage of the state, making them rely on their own study habits and notes to pass the exam. This is what's happening to my brother Milo and his best friend Jack. Well done to them for their exceptional incompetence and utter lack of dedication to their student's wellbeing and education. Excellent work!
I'm writing this review on the school's canteen. The canteen made a comeback with Pepsi Max Lemon however making prices higher on nearly all items is absurd. And the quality has just dropped, who wants a dry sausage roll? And it feels like every term prices continue to rise! Noodle cups now $4 after being a item that was affordable something needs to change.
this is honestly the worst school in Victoria. The learning honestly as a vce student feels rushed and not engaging, most of the teachers at this school are really cold, unsupportive and don't really care about their students wellbeing the school wellbeing "counsellor" included, which is quite disturbing most teachers don't go beyond for students, they act like all they really want to do is just get paid and go home. They will only act on something if they need to protect their jobs or if a parent raises concerns or they noticed something wrong with your uniform, not because they actually care. Please teachers get off your potato's and do better you too school wellbeing counsellor get off your potato stop being cold and start caring and develop a sense of empathy for studentsb please
I finished year 12 last year and I can honestly say I learned little from this school, did not get into the university that I wanted, the teaching at this school is lazy, I had to invest in multiple tutors to nearly keep up with all the international students, I made hardly no friends and got treated like a misfit by teachers and students. I’ve cried nearly everyday after school. The toilets I was to scared to go to because of all the kids vaping in the girls room, and the graffiti in every classroom always was rude. Please don’t go to this school.
guys, imma be honest, this is actually a really good school, the bullying doesn't really bother me because I actually fit in well, lolz! And theirs a lot of - about teachers not talking to students but they always talk to me and my b1rch'3z, So someone explain? I love the extracurricular activities like the school dances, they are always so fun...especially afterwards! ; and in the school bathrooms ;. Ms. Principle don't pretend you don't know ;
The school only has 10% of staff who are actually nice and respectful. You have other teachers who only stop things when they are contacted, but only for reviews. Don't let me start on the toilets. They don't even clean them properly. The janitors only clean the the floors and sinks but not the toilet themselves. While the staff ones are much more sanitary and usable. Students are also using their phones and SMOKING in the toilets where they won't get caught. Not that great if you ask me.
pepsi max lemon is the best thing to ever happen to this school. five stars. edit: the great chicken wrap price increase of 2023 was a disgrace. i simply cannot leave my review at five stars when the chicken wrap costs $7.50. of course, i will still buy it like the mindless consumer i have been conditioned to be. it's a damn good chicken wrap. edit 2: i’m taking a star off for every time that the canteen messes something up. the sausage roll quality has severely declined within the last week… they’re D R Y now. the sausage rolls WERE amazing but now the canteen doesn’t cook them right, they’re dry as a bone. the pastry isn’t flakey at all, it’s like a biscuit. my go-to canteen item is now the shin cup, but the countdown has already begun; it’s only a matter of time before the canteen mess that up too. Edit 3: You mocked me, laughed at me, told me I'm crazy; but look who's in the right now. A quick recap for the uninitiated: in my previous edit, I warned of the eventual downfall of the Shin Cup; and now it's here. Not only has the Shin Cup's quality been on a steady decline with longer wait times and warm water instead of hot water, resulting in uncooked noodles, the final nail was just put in the coffin; Breaking news from the KDC Canteen: the Shin Cup is now $4; a fifty cent increase. Four dollars. Not four Venezuelan Bolívars. Four Australian Dollars. Four hard earned dollars. Higher prices for lower quality, that's the KDC Canteen's motto. The ability to ruin every single item on the menu is almost impressive. First the chicken wrap, then the sausage rolls, and now my beloved Shin Cup. My rating has now been lowered to 1 star, which means it can't possibly get worse than this, but I won't be surprised when the KDC Canteen prove me wrong. Edit 4: Solo Lemon & Lime is THE best thing to ever happen to this school. Five stars. Edit 5: five dollars for a sausage roll. i’m not even surprised anymore. i want to lower my rating to one star but im so done with this that i can’t even be bothered to move my mouse onto the button. edit 6. the final edit: guess who just found out that you can literally buy the exact same ingredients to make your own chicken wrap from woolies. me. it’s me. for just over $20, you can make 8 chicken wraps, which begs the question… how can the canteen possibly justify charging $7.50 per chicken wrap, when i can make my own for $2.50 each. i would love to see exactly what the canteen is spending the $5 of profit per wrap! on. show me your financial records otherwise i’m assuming it’s tax dodging.
I Graduated three Years ago, I would recommend anyone who sends their children here to be cautioned. There are only a handful of Teachers who actually care for all their students not just the gifted few or the few that Peak within High School itself the school did not Push me to do my best and even though I have been successful in my endeavours so far I do not have KDC to thank, they will quickly put students in the Too Hard basket if they need even a little more attention and condemn them that way for the rest of their time there. Even their "Welfare Department" didn't look after me well and shamed me for even needing to use their services. I fear the outward perception of the school has become more important than the inward functioning, I have seen this first hand and through my siblings who currently attend. This school has so much potential to positively influence the children attending and I would love to see it flourish. However I am still disappointed and only hope the best for the children and young adults currently attending.
