An Historical cemetery of the town Keilor. You'll find the grave of Ellen Blanche, a nine-year-old daughter of Ebenezer and Elizabeth Bonfield who was buried April 1856. Very well kept grounds which are expanding with the addition of ”Gallery of the Saints” Mausoleum extension. There is some parking throughout the ground and many trees to keep the sun at bay. It's interesting when reading a plaque displayed in the cemetery you will notice deaths between 1856-1890 of people buried in this cemetery 8 were older than 90 and 3 over 100 years of age.
I’m appalled at the amount of weeds, rubbish and overgrown bushes in the section my father is buried cremated. I’ve complained and nothing has been done.
More upkeep, maintenance and cleaning up, especially in the older areas, is required. Providing new burial plots is fine, but please remember the whole place. Our loved ones reside there... we want them to feel loved and cared for. Under old management it was better, and the office needs to be manned. It shouldn’t be just about $$$. God’s abundant blessings!
Very peaceful and I will be joining my parents there. I have just peace, and respect for those who are laid to rest there. And I am very happy to be able to be laid to rest there myself. Just one thing I would like to see, is it kept tidy. That's just basic human decency. Would those who work there, like to live in a dirty house..? The new burial area is muddy and unkempt. Being there to see loved ones is disappointing and upsetting. The monuments are often glorious, but, their surroundings are putrid, filthy, and it is absolutely heartbreaking to see. That forced me for one reason.. to pay a digging fee, and be buried in a section that IS nicely kept for the most part, and of course near my loved ones. The cemetery should look after that area with more care - and respect for those who are left there to RIP. They wouldn't let their homes have a 'garden' like that; mud everywhere... So, show some respect to those who've chosen to spend eternity there, and clean it up please!!!
Really disappointed. An unsealed internal roadway adjacent to our family plot means that it is either dusty in summer or muddy in winter. We enquired about whether it was to be sealed over a decade ago when determining a grave for our loved ones and were told it would be asphalted. When contacted recently a sympathetic employee told me that her enquiries further up the management ladder yielded no joy. There are no plans to seal the road which is used as a thoroughfare. Other roads in the new area are schmick! There is rubbish constantly strewn around which has become worse since the Cemetry was taken over recently. We visit to clean up regularly but I’m worried about what will happen in the future.
08/05/19. Disappointed with the general upkeep of the cemetery area and that the office was no longer staffed. My wife and I visited my parents lawn grave site Central Lawn C section on Wed 08/05/19 for the coming Mothers Day 2019. We noted that we had the option to call an "after hours- emergency" number, but received no return phone call. The reason we wanted to speak to a "human" was to advise the office apparently not used that my parents lawn grave plague which could be lifted and stolen was loose. Someone had made an effort to trim the lawn grave area but had made no attempt to sweep the grass cuttings of the lawn plagues. This was a few days before Mothers Day, so we were a little disgusted of the state of the general surrounds considering it was coming up to a very busy Mothers Day. With the trend today to steal plagues from grave sites to melt down the precious metal, it is just not good enough. Disappointed and waiting for a response. Alan Buckley.
I am totally disgusted in this cemetery. I buried my mother yesterday. I went to visit her grave today and found that the stonemason didn't bother replacing the monument cover back after the burial. I was so distressed and distraught seeing it only covered up with some dirt. Our candle box was on a strangers grave whilst all of mums flowers was on a 3rd persons grave. I am totally disgusted that she now has to be like this untill Tuesday which is 4 whole days. If I knew the stonemasons they chose were so pathetic, I would have organised it myself. General Metropolitan Cemetery Trust, you all disgust me beyond words.
The place is very peaceful. After the General Metropolitan Cemetery Trust took over, the cemetery is a disaster. Now they even closed the front office permanently. Great job.
For buying plot in Keilor the customer service unprofessional and the management too
