We came in at 3:20pm, were shown to table. At 3:30 they came to us, and told us we can no longer order hot food because the kitchen is closing. If they had told us that when they showed us to the table, we could have ordered before 3:30pm. We only wanted avocado on toast from the kitchen. But no. So we ordered coffee and lemon meringue. I understand that the kitchen has to close some time but feel they should have managed our expectations better.
I have been there a few times, food was ok. Coffee reasonably good. last week we went there for a coffee and a breakfast, not too many people, order a latte and a flat white. after 10 min a young man came to our table and said 2 x FLAT WHITES. plus t/a cups. 2 min later he came back and mumbled something and said these are your coffees, WE RAN OUT OF COFFEE CUPS. Well dont spoil the morning. 5 min later a lady came took the order and and asked me about the poached egg runny, soft or well done? I said well done. when they brought my Breaky eggs nearly well done, sausages dry and bacon superdry overcook. We waited for an hour until I decided to ask the same lady where are the runny eggs? She said very unsincerely SORRRRYYYYY. like she did not care. anyway we paid and left. poor customer service. thats all. The owner seems to be a hard working guy.
Excellent service by Micah- he scanned the dining area so thoroughly and was so attentive with service. I often eat here and enjoy the food and service but today I was particularly impressed with the young waitstaff showing initiative and being on the ball.
Don't waste your time or money. Very disappointed. Starting with the most positive, the fresh juice I had was not bad although the amount of froth was excessive, so really, it was only half a juice! The coffee.....i was there with a person who loves coffee and will usually drink a coffee if it isn't the greatest. 1 sip and that was all she could sromach....absolutely disgusting! We ordered meals and after a fair wait and the delivery of our drinks which we had started to drink/sip, we were told they didn't have mushrooms so we couldn't have our meals. There's a Coles nearby that stocks mushrooms and a worker had just come back with some other ingredients. Very disappointing. An expensive visit considering we got half a drink! Went to Starbucks nearby and sooooo much better. Give this a miss. Terrible.
I have extremely mixed views about this cafe, I love the drinks and the food, yet the service varies from person to person. There is a tall young girl who is always so cheerful and pleasant, I am always happy with her service. No complaints about the barista’s too, they are lovely. Yet there’s an older guy with dark brown hair and a short beard who has been nothing but rude based on my two experiences. 1: I ordered a bottle of water which I paid $8 for which was definitely wrong but I wasn’t going to complain and was told to wait for it, as he didn’t communicate my order with the other staff, I waited for over 5 minutes for water. When another worker realised, he gave me water and apologised. 2: Today I ordered a cake from the window, the man went to grab a container and struggled to pull them apart, resulting in him throwing the container over the counter. It landed on the floor outside of the shop, he did not think to pick it up. As someone who has worked in retail and food service, I completely understand that workers have off days, but not once have I allowed my mood to affect how I treat my customers.
The coffee was excellent, the barista there is top notch but unfortunately the other workers there just stand there and chit chat... i ordered a chocolate twistie pastry unsure of the actual name and i waited over 10 mins for it... the staff there were looking at me funny till i approached the cashier and said wheres my pastry and her response was "sorry i forgot it in the oven". If it wasnt for the coffee this would be 1 star only.
Cafe Kazu is located in the centre of level 2 Miranda Westfield, and for a cafe located inside Westfield with limited control of its surroundings, it does well. Meeting COVID regulations, they have a dedicated entrance with sing-in and a clear exit. The tables, floors, and surroundings are kept clean and tidy. The menu is quite large considering the small team of chefs working, and it is quite well priced. In regards to the quality of the food, it's good but not exceptional, and it took longer than the standard time for it to be prepared. I ordered the big breakfast and was surprised by the amount of food on the plate, it was definitely a filling meal. The serving staff are helpful and have good customer service. Overall, it's a solid 4 star cafe, but it definitely needs to hire another kitchen hand to improve the speed in which meals come out.
So my partner and I went to cafe Kazu. Gotta say, I love the staff's friendliness, and the open atmosphere of the cafe! We got ourselves a big brekkie good assortment of various things and a chicken tenderloin. Both dishes were good, fairly well priced, and I like that the dishes were not overseasoned! Like the chefs are letting the ingredients speak for themselves. Definitely will want to come back again to try their pastries and sweets. Good recommend for a midday brekky!
Whilst I wouldn’t say their coffee is the best I’ve had - it’s pretty good, made by professionals such as Mike! Excellent work guys thank you so much for the coffee
Scrambled eggs were really nicely cooked. Great coffee. Good atmosphere.Food: 5/5
