We had a really great time here. The waiter was so friendly and helpful with his suggestions on spice levels! The beverage menu is nice too, offers some locally made beer which we enjoyed. Ambience is good, beautiful decorations and lighting, made for a good evening out. Most important, the food was outstanding. Everything came out hot, and huge! Very generous portions, and amazing flavours particularly to the dosa. Great restaurant experience. Hope they can expand to Auckland one day!
A must for anyone who likes Indian food! A great verity of dishes all served beautifully and all delicious! Clean place, friendly service. We came a big group and everyone was happy.
Probably the best and only place in New Plymouth for Southern Indian or Kerala. Both staff who took my order and served were friendly and helpful. All the food I tried - Masala Dosa, Kallappam and Kerala Beef Fry nope, it’s not the typical beef ullarthiyathu tasted great though not authentic - could be due to the unavailability of ingredients like unavailability of “kallu” or toddy for kallappam in this part of the world or they altered the recipe to suit the local taste palates. The Kerala Chicken Biriyani was a major disappointment. The chef didn’t get the recipe or masalas right. It’s definitely not authentic Kerala or southern Indian cuisine. Probably, Mughal or Northern Indian style biriyani.
Amazing food. We had the South Indian style Butter Chicken and Chicken Chettinad lunch special. You get rice and Kerala Paratha with the curry. Portion was a bit small but still great food. thanks
I kiwi liked the food and drink was good, especially the Fish Fry and Chicken 65. My South Indian wife thought the food was average, probably a little different tasting to what she's used to. Atmosphere was nice and staff were quite responsive. Food took about 20 minutes to arrive to the table
Good vibes, plenty of options. Chicken biryani taste good but the condiment comes with it is a bit over watery, Aubergine vege curry with thick sauce is also tasty, unfortunately for me the aubergine is cut into too small pieces and melted into the sauce, can't really feel the texture. Friendly service, certain items are slightly pricey. Vegetarian options: Vegan options available upon request
We been there for lunch today, ordered Karen's paneer, daal makhani, veg Korma, dosa, mango Lassi and the best one Indian Tea.. I enjoyed lunch a lot all curry was spices not just Chilli is the best. Love it.
We had dinner at this amazing restaurant on 7 Feb '23. The food is truly delicious. We highly recommend you go there. It's somewhat different to the run-of-the-mill India establishments, just tons better. The tiger prawns wrapped in banana leaves dish is particularly outstanding. I cheekily asked for the recipe hehe but nah. Vegetarian options: We're not vegetarians, but saw enough options Kid-friendliness: There were families with kids dining...plenty of space. Parking: Free parking on the street after 5, weekends and on public holidays Wheelchair accessibility: Street level Dietary restrictions: Discuss your restrictions with the very helpful staff and chefs
Had a fabulous dinner here last Friday. The service was outstanding - really friendly and helpful. We chose the shared mixed platter and the fish wrapped in banana leaf, which was super tasty. Would definitely order again. And the mango lassi is really good too. Yum. We'll be back:-
We enjoyed a great meal here when visiting New Plymouth. Very authentic and just the right serving sizes. We ordered and then shared the various meals, a great way to taste a few of the delicious things on the menu.
