The food it is just delicious, probably in the top 3 fried chicken I had, the fried pork it is also great. The meal size I good and worth the price, maybe there is some items that a a bit pricey, but generally it is worth it.nThe stuff is friendly and it does not take long to get the food unless it is really busy. I personally like the atmosphere of the restaurant, but it may not be for everyone. The stools are ok, but on the room upstairs there are the most comfortable chairs I ever sit on in a restaurant and I wish they had all the tables with those instead of the stools.nIn conclusion a nice place to eat good food without spending a fortune, I will definitely keep coming back.
I had a really good experience. I was pretty impressed by how big and well portioned the meals were for the price. I think you definitely get your moneys worth for the quality and quantity of the meal. Lea served me again and they’re always so nice and friendly, the service was amazing. I will definitely be coming back in the future :.
Decided to check this spot out after more than a few recommendations, it was so worth it! Lovely welcoming staff and a subtle retro anime vibe. The food was the best I've had on the Vic Park main stretch. Starting with the Cheesy Spicy Karrage was a bold choice as it was a huge portion, but it was cooked with love and you could taste that difference . Our pork and chicken dishes were so well made and every flavour jumped off the plate. A must try!!
We wanted to try this place since it opened awhile ago but didn’t bother due to the often long queue. We finally had the chance to give it a go on Friday evening. This place used to be the korean nene fried chicken and it still kind of have that same layout and vibe albeit is rather charming with the japanese related decors and themes. The place fits as a casual dining place, with those outdoor metal chairs and cramped seating arrangement. Customer service was good and welcoming with smiles all around, a plus in our book.nnWe ordered a Cheesy Tonkatsu Teishoku, which has a $26 price tag. It didn’t take long for the meal to arrive at our table. The portion size was average. Taste of the tonkatsu was underwhelming. The cheese portion was overly generous to the point of overwhelming. It masked the taste of the pork and we couldn’t taste the pork. The pork was thinly sliced pork which was a surprise to us as we were expecting a thicker cut pork with cheese on top. Imagine a dingy with inner pork layering filled with cheese. At least the cheese was stretchy if you are into it and the katsu battering was crunchy. The katsu sauce was too liquid for our liking. It could just be a little thicker and it would’ve been better. Taste-wise, it was average, nothing special. Miso was an ‘A’, it was good. Rice was OK but portion was on a smaller side.nnAt $26, we reckon you can offer free refills for a better value proposition, like your competitor a few metres down the road. It is simply on a pricier side. There is also no online ordering facility, again a tad behind the competitor. We finished the food but leaving feeling a bit underwhelmed. We believe there is a potential for this place but until then, we reserve our judgement with a 3 stars.
Got in just before the lunch rush but the tables were filling up fast. It took a while for food to leave the kitchen for any of the tables but it eventually came out at a steady trickle. The servers were friendly and apart from the slow start from the kitchen, service was lovely.nnI thought the food was abit average. The pork was a little dry but otherwise tasty meals. The tempura prawns were pricey $5.50 for two pieces and not worth it.nnMusic was too loud to have a decent conversation without speaking loudly to the person next to you.nnOverall experience was average. Would try it out again but not in any rush to.
