A beautiful and iconic park with a stunning lake at the centre, surrounded by smaller ponds that add to the scenery. There are benches all along the walking track, making it easy to stop, relax, and enjoy the views. The park also has barbecue areas, plenty of ducks around, and even spots where you can go fishing. One of the highlights is the elevated platform, which gives you a great view over the entire park. Beautiful sunsets.nnThe only downside is that there are no bins anywhere in the park, so if you bring food or drinks, be prepared to take your rubbish home with you.
Amazing and surprisingly beautiful with lots of walking tracks, cycling tracks, shaded areas, BBQ spots and lush green areas to enjoy. Best for parties.
Love this park for long walks, watching the sun come up or admiring the birds. Lots of amenities but NO BINS. Lots of parking.
Karkarook Park is very big with large areas of water, lakes, ponds and wetlands. You can jog, walk dogs, picnic, sunbathe, cycle, do sports, go fishing, fly kites, read under the shade, watch birds and fish but don’t feed them, have gatherings with families and friends, bring your kids and do many things. There are BBQ facilities, tables, benches, a playground, public toilet, watching bridges, large area of grass and trees. Watch out for other people if you cycle on the walking tracks because young kids are easily hit. Walk with your bikes if crowded.nThere are usually many people on weekends but you will find your personal space in this awesome park. Some small walking trails are hidden with thorns, bird and dogs’ poo, slippery and can trip you to the nearby water easily, so be careful. Experienced hikers like them.nYou can reach the park by public transit, bus 903 for example.
Great park, perfect to bring children or just go for a walk. There’s plenty of places for children to play and have picnics. It’s a beautiful place to walk around and admire the water and birdlife.nnThere’s plenty of amenities such as shaded picnic table areas and toilets.nnThe parking can get full very fast in peak times but you can always park at the Bunnings that’s not too far away.
