Amazing food, lovely location! I would say a must visit place at Wellington. I only had beer this time to drink but the cocktails menu looks exciting with lots of very different ingredients, I'd say it's a must try.
Fell upon this beauty when visiting the artisan market. Two for one cocktails! They were the most gorgeous cocktails we've ever had. Staff were amazing too, so friendly. Highly recommend visiting this gem!
Loved the modern Maori food here! Best Kumara Fries ever !!! Also had the Fry Bread - served with a generous amount of butter thank you!!. The Fried Squid in Coconut Cream which was super fresh and crunchy and the coconut cream was so flavourful. Then the Ika Mata - so fresh, so creamy good served with Kumara Chips. The prawns in garlic and butter was a tad overcooked though. And the Pork Belly Bao - the pork was a little tough. The Hangi Pulled Pork and Chicken on Chips was alright. Still a great food experience with great service. Hope to be back. ! And btw - that Iced Mocha
Loved this place! Very authentic and love their culture focusing on sustainability, they also have my favourit fair trade and organic drinks from Karma Drinks so that was a bonus! The Hangi was delicious and the creamy paua was so rich! Keep the great work guys!
Cool place to try hearty NZ favourites, including Hangi, the earthen oven steamed meat and vegetables that is central to Māori cuisine. You won’t go hungry here!Recommended dishesHangi Hash, Slow-Cooked Sweet Soy Sticky Pork Ribs, Ocean Basket Kete Kaimoana, Loaded Fries
I really wanted to taste some Pacifika food and we managed to eat here on the last Sunday night they're open this season. The service was friendly and sweet. The food was tasty and wholesome. It was a good experience.
Worked here. Ate here. Got married here. Attended workshops and graduations here. Paul and Keri run a tight ship and do everything they can to ensure that you have an amazing time. Whether you're in for brunch or need a venue for that special event, they've got it covered! Vegetarian options: All you have to do is ask! Nothing is too hard Kid-friendliness: Lovely outside space for the kids to play Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchairs Dietary restrictions: The answer is always 'no' if you don't ask the question! The team will do their best to accommodate your needs
Definitely the top 1 must-go restaurant! Very warm-hearted and professional staffs. Amazing and outstanding Hangi taste. Much appreciate for giving us soooo sweet memory and precious opportunity to touch the Moari culture and history. I'll come back again
Words cannot describe how much my partner & I enjoyed Karaka Cafe. Their food is excellent, staff very friendly, and the space is top tier.Recommended dishesHangi Hash, Hangi Plates, Fry Bread
Wow, nice big Cafe, nice service, and yummy kai, though the chop suey in Polynesian dish a bit weird seems baked and not saucy... I know it sounds bad but probably just better with the real as large pot of saucy chop suey otherwise the taro surprised me and so did the bully beef... yum yum... wonderful Friday night music from talented artists Def be back... nga mihi, ps also tried a bit of hangi and the pork belly with the Polynesian platter was divine
