I visited Kamu this weekend. The coffee was great and the servers were nice.nnHowever my food experience was extremely disappointing. I got the chilli cheese scramble, it was dry, the eggs were overcooked. The taste of the dish was below average, not worth $22.
Just visited this cafe after seeing the amazing photos on instagram. This place is a scam. The photos do not reflect the food provided. All of our meals were undercooked. The bread was stale, french toast doughy, fried chicken burger purple and full of gristle. Bacon undercooked. The only thing good is the coffee. We left with all our food barely finished. Then as we were paying noticed they charge a 20% surcharge for card payments, and then when we decided to pay in cash they said they DONT have change at all. So ended up paying more for our meals because they don’t keep change? This is some of the worst cafe meals i’ve ever had and the instagram is nothing but a scam.
Was a bit surprised that photos posted to their own Instagram account merely 3 days ago did not reflect the food received. When people regularly use social media to pick the dish they want to eat from recent photos it is disappointing they can’t expect consistency. Particularly when the dish was advertised by the cafe itself as a healthy option for the health conscious but was garnished with a topping of powdered sugar as though it was a chocolate cake. I’ve ordered about 1,000 acai bowls in my life and it’s definitely the first time I’ve seen something so strange. They did remake it for me when I questioned why it differed from its menu description which I appreciate but shouldn’t have been required. If I wanted to eat a tonne of non nutritional sugar I would have ordered the delicious looking brownie or cinnamon bun in the cake cabinet
We love our eggs, we love our butter; but most of all, we love each other! nnTop notch cafe to visit if you’re a Benny lover!! Kamu‘s Pulled Pork and Crab Benny’s were the big winners here with their beautifully poached eggs and spicy, rich flavours - literally had us scraping our plate to get a kick of more flavour!nnWhat we’d pass on next time? Probably the Stack of Fritters nDefinitely all the good stuff - however just a little too dense for our liking, very much comparable with pancake batter. Although slightly disappointing, this healthy dish may still be enjoyable for others as we are usually fans of lighter and much crispier fritters afterall
Even though the food took a bit long to come, the atmosphere of the cafe was great. The services were friendly and the food was really good. The pol roti was delicious despite being slightly spicy. The sambol croissant was a bit sweet for a main though, probably don't need the syrup on the side. The fish pan rolls were interesting too. Overall we enjoyed our food here.
