Dad and I had lunch on Easter Saturday. We had chicken satays to start they were delicious. Then Dad had Char Koay Teow and I had Thai Green chicken curry and a roti each. The owner asked how I wanted my curry I said medium heat. We watched him pick the chillis fresh out the front of the restaurant. He came 10 mins later with a small bowl and a teaspoon for me to try the green curry sauce to see if the spice heat was fine for me. It was perfect. What an incredible touch that was to ask for me to taste it first. Just beautiful. You wouldn’t come across that very often. Then hd brought out the chicken curry sauce in another bowl with our mains as Dad asked for some dipping sauce for the Roti, another beautiful touch. You certainly don’t get any complimentary items from restaurants these days. Dad and I both rated our meals highly. Delicious meals. Owner and manager a lovely, funny and friendly man. We will be back.
Magnificent food. The Char Kuey Teow is amazing. We also had a Green Curry and the delightful owner brought out a sample of the sauce prior to cooking/serving to ensure the spice level was ok. Very friendly owner and overall a wonderful lunch. Would highly recommend.
Having lived in Malaysia for two years I ate more than my share of Char kway teow. Visiting Tanunda I stumbled across this restaurant & decided to try their version of this noodle dish. It was absolutely delicious! Better than any Char kway teow I ate while living in KL.nThe owner told me that people often made disparaging remarks about his decor/furniture. He told me he would say to those people, ‘I sell food, not furniture’. He was delightful - even if his shop isn’t going to win any awards for its decor, the food is delicious & very well priced.
Wow. Had heard this place was supposed to be good and that’s an understatement!nPopped in for a late lunch/snack of roti and lamb curry sauce and chicken satay. The love and time and ingredients the food is made with just sings. A new favourite.nDefinitely worth the drive
Hidden gem of a restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was quirky. Tanunda should feel privileged to have a place like this in town. We will definitely stop by next time we're in town.
