We arrived at around 2pm and the place was packed for lunch. We only had an hour to spare and were seated fairly quickly. Got a quick order of dish of the day and served in 10 minutes. We were out in 40 min and were happy and full. This place is also famous for their tea and scones made on the spot. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful experience! Our go to spot is closed on Tuesdays so we decided to branch out, and I’m so glad we did. The birds outside the window was a nice touch, perfect for all ages. The food and service were great as well - I was about to ask for a paper bag for the scone we couldn’t finish and we were given a box with a fresh set of cream and jam - how thoughtful!! Highly recommended.
Delicious food but cold outside where we sat. They give you a blanket though. Inside is warm with a fire place so try to eat in if available and book ahead. Inside also has better views. Excellent food options for both savoury and sweet. Vegetarian options: Both began and vegetarian dishes marked on menu. Parking: A number of different parking area but most full.
Such a beautiful hidden gem within the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. The view is unbelievable, the restaurant has this amazing huge tree that attracts cockatoo which adds this extra magical feel to the place. When we arrived the kitchen was closed but we got scones that were served warm with berry jam & cream. Honestly the best scones I ever tried. They also have high tea which requires 24hrs prior booking. They’re open from 9 to 5 but kitchen closes at 3. Never miss this place!
Enjoy your coffee with the cockatoos at Kallista Tea Rooms. On this occasion, I ordered the Brioche French Toast $18.50 with coconut custard, berries, pear and macadamia crunch. My dining companion chose the Frittata of the Day $15. The lattes $4.50 were delightful and the service was fast and friendly. You can easily book online to ensure you get a table. The window tables are best for bird watching and parking is located behind the cafe. Kid-friendliness: Kid's menu available.
A very nice place for brunch or lunch. Spacious and got a very good atmosphere to chill where surrounded by heaps of cute cockatoos. Staff were friendly. Their foods and drinks were average though. Overall it’s a cool spot to stop by :
Loved the cute tea house, even the toilet was cute and historical. Hehehe. The wonderful wide windows gave a good view. Had excellent and varied breakfast options. Not just eggs but proper meal for brekkie too. Loved the cakes. They had Gluten free and dairy free cakes. The macaroons were to die for and the pistachio raspberry cake was gorgeous. Big serving size! Dietary restrictions: Dairy and Gluten free available. Vegan options too
Nice place with a great view inside, if you are lucky to sit beside the window and watch Cockatoos. Loved the coffee and the fact they had Lactose free milk available for my wife. Scones are the best
We had a lovely relaxing time at Kallista Tea Rooms. We had tea & scones plus their corn fritters for afternoon tea. The surrounding garden adds to the atmosphere, accompanied by cockatoo birds looking on while perched on lush green trees. A wonderful way to spend the afternoon.Food: 5/5
Service- staff are helpful and very quick moving. Food- Scones are great, quite standard. Ordered the pancakes as well but it’s fairly small portion and it’s not the common pancakes that you get from other places. Not my type of pancakes unfortunately. Still don’t know what’s the white thing in the pancake dish Environment- decoration are good with nice wallpapers in the bathroom. Outdoor space to the back parking area has many birds Advices: fix the hand washing chemical dispenser Would come again for other items on the menu if it’s on the way.
