Great little gem at the end of Hastings street. The owners are welcoming and helpful in suggesting menu items. We were here in a large group and had the opportunity to taste most of the dishes on their menu. My favourites were the mango lassi, chicken tikka masala and the tandoori chicken. Special mention goes out to the garlic naan and the butter chicken - the gravy for butter chicken was really really good. They use cashew base for it, so it had a beautiful creamy texture and nutty taste to it. We got our food a bit late - it could have been because of our large group, but at least they themselves offered to bring the kid’s food early and they did. Otherwise, the service was attentive and albeit being busy, the staff were friendly and responsive. We also ordered a couple of mocktails which I felt were not put together properly. May be it’s not the best spot for drinking cocktails, however they seemed to be pumping out the regular scotch and other spirits quite frequently for other customers. Overall, we had a good experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Noosa.
What a fabulous Indian restaurant. For our last night in Noosa we fancied a curry. A proper curry. Yup, we are originally from England. Kaali hit all the notes. And then some. The onion bhaji were amongst some of the best we have had in Australia. We have had a lot. The lamb Rogan Josh was delicious, as was the chicken tikka masala. The Shiraz is an undervalued gem and oh, there is Kingfisher on tap. Happy days.
I’m furious at myself…for why I did not discover this place the night before, and why the hell I spent money, good chunk of coins, on average-at-best food last night at some larger diner on the same street. I ordered: papadums with three dips, garlic naan, saffron basmati rice to go with Lamb Rohan curry. Every single dish is good, and you’d definitely feel the dish served is exceeding its price-tag. I don’t normally say this coz I’m a cheap man, but this place gave me the feeling of I got a bargain AND a fanatic dinner. Highly recommended if you crave some late night curry for your drinking sessions.
At our recent visit to Noosa we were craving Indian food and head down to Kaali restaurant located on hasting street. Service and hospitality was excellent. We felt food was a bit let down in taste and quality specially when you fill in rice with your curry and charge $27 per dish. We would have preferred if we were told that 50% of food is filled with rice hence we felt a bit ripped off. I recommend this restaurant provides curry at normal serving size and if inclined to offer rice provide that in a different bowl. If you plan to visit check about this before ordering!
Delicious food and wonderful service. Our waitress was friendly and made excellent recommendations that we really enjoyed. The owner came and spoke to us at the end of the evening which was really lovely. Authentic cuisine, fresh flavours and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this restaurant. Vegetarian options: Delicious variety of vegetarian dishes. Kid-friendliness: Family run business that accommodates little ones very well. Wheelchair accessibility: Level with the street. No steps.
Kaali Gormet Indian is a wonderful find. Beautiful people own this restaurant, their hospitality shines through. Great, welcoming service. Truly delicious food, one just knows that the chefs are proud to show off their cuisine, the dishes feel authentic and not dumbed down for novice Indian food eaters. Beautiful spot to sit and people watch while you eat your meal. Please put it on your list of restaurants to visit if you are coming to Noosa for a holiday, or live on the coast.
Genuinely the best Indian I have EVER eaten, the food was unbelievably delicious. We also had a garlic naan which was so good, perfectly cooked. The setting of the restaurant is gorgeous, we enjoyed our food over a candle lit table. The staff were lovely, in particular the young girl who served us. She had a lovely personality! So impressed, wish I could eat here all the time as I was on holiday.
Every holiday we go on we always try an Indian restaurant. In all the places we’ve traveled together over the last 11 years this restaurant was by far the tastiest Indian food we’ve had!!! Highly recommend. The staff and service was outstanding! Thanks, Jasmina
We received a very warm welcome by the owners who offered us a choice of tables as we arrived for an early dinner. We ordered a starter from the menu and some drinks and also ordered from the tremendous selection of meals, so hard to choose which one! When the food arrived, it was presented beautifully, this is modern Indian cuisine at its best. Noticeable were the fresh herbs and spices within the meals, they were so very tasty and we will definitely go back again. The tables are spaced apart with candles and nice soft music playing, creating a lovely ambiance on Hastings Street. Well done to Nitin & Araati, you deserve to do well and we will highly recommend your restaurant to anyone who wants to have a really good Indian curry. Good luck with your business in 2023 and beyond. Good luck! Louisa Parking: Easy parking around 5 - 6pm on Thursday evening and then after dinner, a nice slow walk up and down Hastings Street.
Absolutely delicious food! Melt in your mouth, flavour sensations. You can tell they use very high quality ingredients, definitely worth the money. Would dine here again and again. It was the perfect place to come for my birthday dinner. When we mentioned it was my birthday, they gave us two drinks on the house! Lovely to sit outside an enjoy the atmosphere on this quieter end of Hastings Street. It’s a YES from me!
