When I first went in to try on dresses and buy my dream dress was a great experience but once my dress came in it was down hill from there. I picked my dress up the day before my wedding because they staff took on too many dresses to work on. They ignored my calls when trying to call them 2 days out from my wedding to come in for one last fitting and try on, they answered my maid of honour's call within minutes of me calling.They also tried to claim that $600 wasn't enough for alterations and added lace. I was made to feel bad for what they deemed "not being patient" nevause I was panicking about my dress not being completed 2 days out from my wedding. I dont want to leave a poor review but just want to make sure other brides know to be cautious and to get all discussed alteration discussed in writing and be sure to get in early.
This was the first store I went to try on wedding dresses. The staff are rude and pushy. Would not recommend for any bride, they wouldnt even let me facetime my mother who couldnt make it to my first fitting because she lives in Queensland. Months later we decided to give them a second chance for my partner to try on suits. My partner tried on a suit covered in dust, like all the rest that neither of us particularly liked and the staff made me feel terrible for saying I didn't like the colour. Very condescending and overall terrible customer service.
Definitely NO! Please do yourself a favour and buy the dress elsewhere or down south and pay for alterations. Absolute worst horrible experience . For a time so special in peoples lives there’s enough stress already than having to deal with this business , the owner and useless staff member . If you are actually unfortunate enough to have to use this business you need to : Or you will : get everything written down ! Period . You will end up paying more. Ripped off in the end big time . Can’t put enough words in here to describe the level of frustration caused dealing with the business financially and physically . . Don’t do it . The dress was wrong size and blamed us for the fault. The owner will blame you personally if the dress doesn’t fit because you have either lost or gained weight . She will then proceed to try and stitch you up to buy another dress. Wouldn’t it make sense to measure someone again before you order a dress six months later . Perhaps the individual has changed due to any reason IE pregnancy and had lost weight so a measurement made 6 months prior might be different till the day you order a brides wedding dress . A good seamstress or business operator in the industry would know or understand this. It would be literal common sense to make a final measurement before ordering to be sure . But no - clearly inexperienced and complete lack of business sense . Don’t do it . The single staff member she employs is absolutely useless . Could not care less . No knowledge of the job or industry and pretty much the worst people skills I’ve come across in a long time . Just don’t do it . To make it short - horribly just horrible - didn’t need to be like that for such a significant time in our lives . As mentioned before - there IS doubt go down south / or order a dress you love and get it done by any other seamstress and have a wonderful night . Lads - you need suits - just buy them and get it done / you’ll get stitched up worse here and plus you’ve got nice suits for a future event . Thanks for reading . Don’t do it . Just formals - would love to write what I really think of the business and yourselves - -personally - but this needs to be approved and people need to be aware of you . You were / are the worst
Thursday morning finding that my formal is today and my partner and I didn’t know what to do luckily Lynne was able to help us out from just formals with just 5 hours before the event she was able to do our sizings really lovely lady I recommend coming for formal wear especially when needed.
Visited with my good friend who’s getting married next year and have only good things to say about Lyne and Micky. They are so polite and professional and now my friend has a beautiful dress for her wedding.
Organised a suit for a formal function. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good price for a suit hire and was ready when they said ot would be
I walked in 5 weeks before my wedding and asked if it was possible to get an appointment for that day. Lynn said if I could wait 15 min then it wasn't a problem. Just that was amazing in itself, then I found my perfect dress, I really didn't think is was possible. It was a size 8, scandalous when I was a size 14 in these dresses. We tried on a similar style and it fit perfectly. I was happy with it but it wasn't my perfect dress. Lyn called me on Monday after the Saturday fitting and told me she could get the dress here on time at an extra charge to myself. I was elated to say the least and quickly agreed. I was sooooo worried it wouldn't arrive in time but somehow Lyn managed to get it here with a whole two weeks to spare. I can't praise her enough for the alterations, she even went out of her way to put a few little bows on it that allow me to pin the train up and wear it all night without ruining it. Lynn you know what a bride needs and you gave me something I didn't know I needed until you told me you had done it. So a big thank you for that. She change my appointments a few times without batting an eyelid. I could not be happier with the service I received. I loved every minute and felt right at home. Thank you Lynn you are a very talented lady and I will be recommending you to any future brides I come across. Best wishes for the future. Xoxo
I had a great experience at Just Formals, Lyn was just amazing and helped me find the perfect wedding dress. She went above and beyond our expectations and she did a great job with the alterations. I highly recommend Just Formals.
Walked in with the bride and we were unaware you needed to make an appointment, we simply wanted to have a look around. We were treated so abruptly and rudely and told that it was appointment only and were only offered to look around after almost leaving and apologising making it seem like they were doing us a favour, even though the shop was very quiet. One of the staff then told the bride that she looked too young to be getting married which she should not be stating which left the bride feeling extremely uncomfortable. We tried to pull one dress out to get a better look at it as it was the style the bride loves, and were swiftly told to put it back and we weren't allowed to take it from the rack. Not a great experience for the bride's first time looking at dresses and we will not be going back.
