Lovely stay here. Pool was definitely the main feature, loved that it was salt water so you didn't get the stingy eyes. The pool was always clean. I loved the fact you didn't have to sign in/out towels to use. Such an easy feature. The rooms were clean and simple. The corridors could do with a paint job but that's about it. The splash bar was still finding its feet with the young employees, sometimes drinks would turn up and sometimes they wouldn't using the QR code. Was Much easier to go up and ask. If I could suggest possibly a life guard or security around the pool as on our last day it was full of a few drunk hooligans which despite having 10 beers never seemed to leave to pool to go to the toilet The buffet Christmas dinner was an abundance seafood great value. My husband unfortunately got food poisoning so it did put a damper on our last day. All up a lovely experience
The pool and splash bar were really fun, even for our 3 year old. Enjoyed the Sunday session live music also. Buffet breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and even helped us and other guests get to the airport when the taxi service was super slow - this was over and above expected. We would definitely stay again.
We had a lovely stay. Beautiful rooms. The pool is amazing. The standout with by far the food! The room service was superb - the best eggs Benedict and Rostis I’ve had in a very long time. Quarterdeck the following night was brilliant as well. Thank you Rooms: 5/5
Stayed for several nights for a conference, including awards dinner. Conference venue was good with large rooms that were able to be split into 3 smaller rooms. The AV systems played up a few times and became a distraction, but were fixed quickly. Attentive and friendly staff. Rooms were standard hotel rooms and unfortunately didn't have much of a view from my room.
First time in 10 years I have park crossed the road from the casino cause I don’t have high rank card to park next to the casino . Casino is nice and cafe in casino is nice as well. I would like to know what the high roller rooms look like but I guess it will never happen . Rooms are very nice only thing I liked. As being a local and been going there for years I would like to be appreciated a little but I guess I’m just a number..
I've stayed multiple times and had an amazing time. This year it was anything but! The new pricing since the renovations is expensive considering the quality of the rooms were pretty average. Nothing resort about them. The buffet at palm house was missing its variety and the taste was very plain in comparison to other times. And lastly the new bar tender at the palm house tried to enforce RSA after 2 drinks at a work function. He proceeded to bring water out when guests requested 2 drinks at a time because he was slow and missing half of the orders. He then tried to serve the drinks without alcohol because he genuinely believed the function was to intoxicated to notice. People would need to get their drinks in the first place to actually be intoxicated. Fancy renovations and expensive prices only work when you actually receive the quality of service with it!
The Ville has a great location and is modern and clean. Drink prices are too high and service is slow. In a recent stay, I could not get a coffee until the Casino opened as the QD was closed until 11am. The hotel was full of guests. Late night dining is also limited. Gluten Free options need improvement. Food & drinks: This is the area in most need of improvement. Noteworthy details: The Vantage rewards program is the best in Townsville.
Definitely won’t be staying there again. We made cups of tea and left our cups on the bedside tables. The next day the cleaner came and tidied our room and the cups were back where they belong upside down on plates beside the kettle. We went to make a cup of tea and realised they were our dirty unwashed cups. Lucky it was us using them again and not new guests! Furthermore, I left a dress hanging in the wardrobe and rang FIVE times during the following fortnight and no one helped me, I was basically told there was nothing they could do. This is unlike any other hotel we have stayed at before. Very disappointing, rude and unhygienic.
Open late in a sat night out, brilliant. Has the ambience of a big RSL but can't expect more I suppose. Quarterdeck is a great afternoon cocktail venue though
As a new arrival to Townsville I really had high hopes for the Ville. Sadly it has been disappointing as management are definitely not approachable to any community based projects support. The dining at the pool surprisingly was sub standard and poorly prepared, however it was the breakfast experience that was the worst. While the food at $38 was ok the service was the worst. After waiting a full 30 minutes for the filter coffee multiple approaches to the staff only netted comments that its coming, requests for a barista coffee till they got their act together was met with, no you have to pay extra. Requests for instant coffee at least in the meantime resulted in huffy stares and a general impression that we were an annoyance as a paying customer. Honestly, how can they possibly get tea, coffee and toast wrong? Definitely a frustrating establishment.
