I have eaten here 3 different times now and I have been really impressed with every one of the dishes I have tried. A very basic old school dining space but I’m not there for the ambience. Seem to always have new waitstaff but they have all been very warm and efficient. It’s not your typical overpriced Mt Lawley wankfest. Thankfully it’s what I want from a Vietnamese restaurant. Simple, clean, well priced dishes in the heart of Beaufort Street.
Beyond disappointed . Would defiantly not recommend. Came here with a group of 16 and did not have a pleasant experience at all. The food was ok but the service was appalling. Two young India girls working in an Asian restaurant ?? Go figure ??? They were rude and disrespectful. They reality is that we were the only people in the restaurant so they should have been a little more attentive . It was also super expensive and we got charged $6 for a single Scoop of vanilla ice cream. Do not waste your pennies people.
Stupidly didn't read the reviews! To reflect on this place as a restaurant would be wrong. From service through to the dishes they serve up the name fairly reflects the entire experience? JUNK! Crafty operators though. You would never believe that anyone who has such an expensive Vietnamese menu would have the nerve to provide you with anything less than a top quality experience. How wrong we were! Expensive lesson for our family.
I've been in many Vietnamese restaurants but I found authentic Vietnamese tastes here. I love shaking beef, goat curry,... . I would try all the menus. I really love warm space here. Not noisy, wait staffs are so lovely.
Cheap and cheerful. So many great nights spent at Junkboat. Hits Salt and Pepper Squid. Order 1000 Pho the broth is yummy and the meat is quality BYO Great for a big group Miss it The service can go missing sometimes haha don’t be afraid to ask for help. It’s usually very quiet so the atmosphere isn’t very energetic
No warmth by restaurant, nor staff!!! Burnt black spring rolls; dont order sweet potato prawns=2small prawns&dinner plate size battered, deep fried sweet potato overpriced mess=tasteless. Chicken satay also burnt&most food served =tasteless&too much carbs in proportion to rest of meal!!!! Uncomfortable seats also...
Service was slow and forgot the one drink we ordered. Food tasted good but all the salad in the mains and entrees had sand in it. Not very nice to chew on sand.
this place had a godlike status when it comes to food in Mt Lawley ...the key word...HAD. used to be called Saigon something and the food was ****** incredible ...... then they changed name/hands....kept the same dishes but boy o boy , they must have changed few chefs since then because the dishes that we USED to know by the names are NOTHING like the dishes they sell now.... stay away from this place now....ive given them 3 chances and after the last one ...NOPE not again...
This used to be my favourite restaurant, but i was a bit disappointed. Grissly pork belly, dry chewy chicken and overcooked duck. The squid was excellent but everything else tasted reheated.
I had their crispy crepe. Amazing. Delicious food and lovely service. Low key surrounds for a relaxed dinner.
