Delicious freshly made dumplings served steaming hot. The restaurant is nice and clean and you have an option to sit outside. The prawn dumplings and prawn with garlic chives are excellent as were the steamed prawn wrapped in soft rice noodles and steamed pork buns. The steamed pork ribs with black beans and garlic is a family favourite and the vegetables are always perfectly cooked. Prices are mid to high but we always feel it's good value.
This is the perfect way to celebrate new year day. I love the fact that you can choose dim sum from the cart directly. All dim sum are freshly made and hot enough with good quality. I personally love the chicken feet with black bean sauce the most. The chicken feet is well seasoned and a little bit spicy. My second favourite is the egg yolk custard bun. The filling is running which is the best to served when it is hot. Beef tripe is nice too because it is soft and easy to chew. Well seasoned as well. Service is good and the staff are all very nice. Will definitely come again.
We ordered sweet & sour pork, PiPi with fried vermicelli and a signature dumpling platter. By and large, the dumpling platter is worth waiting for. The skin is smooth and silky. The sweet & sour pork is not crispy as we hope it is. Probably, we ordered during lunch. PiPi with fried vermicelli is crispy but somehow seems to be missing something.
A great yum cha place in the northern side with wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food is tasty and the atmosphere feels authentic. Price is a bit high but not unreasonable considering its location.
Some of the food tasted good and some were ok. Chicken fried rice was excellent. There was no tofu in chopped vegetable tofu soup. The price is a little high.
Really nice choice for girls who feel like a less sweet or red meat brunch. Tea is great. Friendly staff too. We’re happy.
3.5 start should be accurate, not bad food, friendly aunties thereFood: 3/5
The food was not bad except for once the custard bun served COLD, but the senior lady manager was extremely cold to us and didn’t want to help at all. Service was good on an individual level however coordination was a disaster. We got sent wrong dishes twice and the billing wasn’t correct either. If the manager knows how to actually do her job this place would’ve been a much better and popular venue.
Came for yum cha without a booking and was seated very quickly. While the food and service was great, the loss of star was due to the first few dishes we got were cold. Appears they may have been a few rounds before we were seated, however the rest of dishes were hot and fresh.
We’ve been enjoying yum cha at Joyful House for several years now back to before the change in management. Quality has been generally ok for the suburbs. However todays yum cha was terrible. Most of the food off the trolleys was stone cold and tasteless. When we mentioned this, our food was microwaved and returned to the table. Not terribly impressed. I hope management takes note and makes some changes or they’re likely to lose a lot of patronage.
