I overheard the young receptionist speak very unprofessionally with a patient over the phone, demanding the patient give the phone to someone who "spoke English properly". Everyone in the waiting room heard that. There are other ways of going about that situation without attacking the patient with comments with discriminatory undertones. It appeared that the conversation ended well despite the receptionist's awful attitude, but the receptionist then proceeded to complain loudly to her colleague about said patient about their inability to speak "proper" English and mocked their accent! Disgusting! Once again, everyone in the waiting room could hear their loud voices complain, complain, and complain--how unprofessional in that regard as well. Horrifying.
