Don’t order fish and chips! This iconic takeaway/diner/convenience store gets rave reviews so I guess we ordered the wrong thing. This is not a place to order fish and chips. The hoki was not fresh – it tasted and looked like the frozen fish from the supermarket freezer. On the plus side, the service was friendly and fast.
Drove past & the place just oozed of 'a must visit' & I wasn't disappointed. Great, tasty hamburgers & chips. Plenty of lollies to choose from as well as other food/electrical/pool floats ect pretty much selling everything you could think of. Interesting old school retor deco & outdoor seating available as well, front & back. While waiting for your meal, have a game of pinball/arcade game. Friendly &fast customer service.

What’s better than a works burger and hot chips after a surf - not much. Not only is the location of this joint superb but the food is actually bloody awesome. The decor is great and you feel like you’ve stepped away from the Gold Coast and into a sleepy little beachside town. Definitely recommend for a post beach feast.
Where do I even start, we were greeted with appalling customer service where we were clicked at and made to rush our order as the grill was closing in 1 HOUR! We were met with utter attitude and disrespect which is disheartening considering all the great things we have heard about the establishment. The food came out promptly however the quality was lacking, the chicken schnitzel was dry, buns over cooked, fish frozen heartbreaking considering it’s beachfront, chips-MID, veggie burger almost made my mate stop being vegetarian. However, my stake Sanga was lovely and the ponies were on and I got a good win so I was happy just sad the boys weren’t. Hoping some of these issues can be solved as I personally believe the place has unreal potential.
where do i even start. terrible. disgraceful. a joke of a burger joint to say the least. me and my crew were saddened upon arrival. we came 45 minutes before closure and we were rushed within 5 seconds of getting there to take our order, being told we were dragging and to hurry up. although the food was fast, it was not even closer to be considered average. my works burgers patty was dry, bacon was stringy, and sauce was disgusting. my mates fish and chips looked and tasted appalling, it was clearly frozen, i even had to ask said friend if his fish was a potato scallop due to its dense texture. my question is, how do you get chips so wrong? salt was rational, chips varied from over cooked to barely cooked, and that made me quite upset. $260 spent here was a donation to the establishment, and i guarentee if this continue, the business will close down. good day sir.
Awful Food, terrible owner Lady who runs the joint was a pain to deal with, incredibly condescending and rude, food was average, could find better quality down the reduced isle at woolies, definitely wouldn’t recommend. Food was utterly dreadful, you’d find better flavour on the bottom of my shoe. Please do yourself a favour and do not step inside this establishment, walk up the road to a joint that takes there food and service seriously
The reviews are great the food and service is not. We paid surf club prices for frozen hoki despite being beside the water. The food was served in cardboard when we were 'dining in' no napkins at the table or served with food. Just wanted nice fish and chips on a day out to the beach. Waste of money. Atmosphere gets 1 star as the lady kept talking to us about traffic while we were trying to eat and ignoring her. Then watched her use her hands to get rubbish out of the bin and put it in a different bin and didn't wash her hands.
Walking in and getting clicked at the staff, I should have known to just walk out and go elsewhere. I ordered fish and chips, which had double the amount of grease and oil than any fish. Was frozen too, which is always treat considering ocean is 70 metres away.
the food is really nice and the charm of the place is amazing, i was about to leave a 5 star until my last experience in which the chef out the back was unbelievably rude that has made made me felt quite uncomfortable in wanting to return here again. as someone who works in customer service i am honestly shocked about the situation.
