Jingili Primary School was opened in 1971. Located in Darwin, Northern Territory Australia. The school caters for Preschool to Year 6.
Jingili Primary School is located in the Darwin suburb of Jingili and prides itself in “Putting the Child First”. The school consists of two campuses comprising a child-care facility (Jingili Kindergarten) and pre-school on one site with the primary campus nearby. A variety of cultural backgrounds are represented in the student population which is maintained around 330.. The school strives to create Assessment Capable Learners, offering programs that are student-centred, engaging and rigorous. We follow the Australian Curriculum and base our pedagogy on Visible Learning and the Walker Learning philosophy. The school has implemented a Positive Behaviour Framework and strives to maintain whole school approaches in wellbeing, literacy and numeracy. The Children Almost Ready to Enter School (CARES) program offers a seamless transition from pre-school to primary school. Specialist subjects including Science, PE and Kitchen garden programs are offered. Students have leadership opportunities through the SRC, House Captains, Peer mediators and Sustainability Group. STEM, Coding, TOM’s, sport gala days. We value a collaborative learning culture where teachers work in Professional Learning Teams and Focus Groups to drive school improvement.
