The Northeastern dishes at Jilin Renjia are quite authentic and true to traditional flavours, without being overly modified. You can really taste that familiar, genuine Northeast style. The sweet and sour pork Guo Bao Rou was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the portions were generous. Overall, it offers good value for money and is suitable for family gatherings or meals with friends. The service was friendly as well. I would definitely come back again.
Decent Chinese food.nnWe got the kwow pao pork $28. This dish was pretty good. The sauce was sweet, tangy, and garlicky. The pork was crispy and somewhat tender. 4.5/5.nnWe also got the hachi lamb chops $28. The vegetables, spices and herbs contributed to give a nice aromatic flavour. However, we found the lamb to be a little too fatty. 4/5.nnMy favourite dish was probably the stir fried cauliflower $26. It was seasoned well, had a good amount of wok hei, and had chilli’s and peppercorns, which contributed to a nice slightly spicy, numbing experience. 5/5.nnWe also got the pork and cabbage dumplings $16 which had no issues to it. The skin had a nice chew to it, and the meat was tender and well seasoned. 4.5/5.nnDespite the fake reviews here, the food we had was quite decent. Overall ~4.5/5.
The lamb, beans and fish was really good. Food was amazing and service and atmosphere was good too. Forgot to take a picture of the fish. Stomach was too full when we walked away - decent portions. Will be back.
Authentic Northeastern Chinese flavors! The dishes are hearty, bold, and full of wok aroma. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing. The grilled fish and stir-fried pork are especially delicious. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Great place for comfort food and family meals. Will definitely come back!
The beef pot is hugeee! The beef itself was just right — tender, not too soft and not too chewy, absolutely perfect. I especially loved the radish, and this pot was packed with heaps of braised radish and potatoes, which made it so comforting and flavorful.nWe also tried the stir-fried cauliflower, which was super tasty with a nice kick of malatang spice
