Purchased a pair of Shokz OpenRun headphones from JB Hi-Fi in August 2023. In December 2025, one of the arms snapped despite normal use and no accident or misuse.nnI returned to JB Hi-Fi seeking a remedy under Australian Consumer Law, as premium headphones at this price point should reasonably last longer than just over two years.nnAt first the store manager stated that there was no physical damage he could see, which from the photos you can clearly see this was a lie to deny any fault with the product.nThey then declined to provide any remedy and advised they would not assist because the manufacturer’s warranty had expired.nnI explained that I was not making a manufacturer warranty claim and that ACL applies independently of warranty periods, but this was still declined.nnAs a result, I have now lodged a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria to seek assistance resolving the matter.nnDisappointing experience given JB Hi-Fi’s size and reputation, and the lack of understanding of consumer law at store level.
Really appreciated the great customer service provided by Darcy when I was purchasing a phone usb-c lanyard today. She was busy with another customer but must have noticed I needed help and came straight over when she'd finished. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional and although I don't usually like shopping for tech items it made for an enjoyable experience.
I have been to many JB HiFis, but this is the only and the worst out of every other. Such a racist behaviour. Please learn to respect to everyone whether they are customers or delivery drivers. Just understand that we do a service between you and the customer. You people put a notice “Uber here” and then ask us to come through the queue when we were standing there for a long time? Also, in a neglectful manner? Please learn to improve your customer service skills.
Great Range and Friendly Service!nJB Hi-Fi Camberwell is my go-to for all things tech and entertainment. The staff are always helpful and really know their stuff, whether it’s finding the right headphones or setting up a new device. The store’s always well-stocked and easy to navigate. Great service every time!
Zero for customer service at thee most hidden away store.nnFriday night, the store was absolutely deserted. Ghost town.nnNo one greeting, no one assisting, just groups of teenage-staff on their iphones, huddled behind a counter at the very back of the store, or observed smoking in the carpark and wandering off on casual toilet breaks.nnOn a mission, I walked 4 laps of the store, not one offer of assistance.nnFailing to find a few items I needed and anyone willing to assist, I conveniently took advantage of the in-store Macs to search the JB-HiFi website, googled my own tech enquiry, checked prices and found which stores had certain goods in-stock for purchase and/or click-and-collect.nnJust bizarre.nnI’d understand if they were run off their feet but 6-7 staff to 1 ignored customernn….. tumbleweeds….
