This Italian restaurant is an absolute gem. Their freshly made pasta dishes are amazing with well-balanced flavours and their coffees are strong yet wonderful. A must-try while you're at Prahran; I already know that I will be back for more of their food and espressos even though I live across the other side of Victoria.
A small Italian cafe tucked in the corner of Prahran market. They serve a range of bakery, pastries, breakfast dishes, paninis, freshly-made pasta and cannoli. I love their breakfast bruschetta because the sourdough bread is so nicely chargrilled, and they serve the sweetest cherry tomatoes and amazing whipped ricotta. We also tried their bologna panini and carbonara, everything was cooked to perfection. Service was great and waiters were very friendly and attentive
Tiny Italian cafe beside Prahran market, authentic place, rustic decor. The staff is a plus, friendly and proud of their origin. For myself I can imagine la mama in the kitchen who prepare those delicious lasagna, the charcuterie plate was great too with delicious sourdough bread “I can have more”. Short travel to little Italia. Now I have to try more. A presto!
Obsessed with this place. Cannot go past the homemade pasta, but all the brunch items are delicious too I can never decide what to eat! Hands down best coffee in Melbourne, love the homemade sweet treats too like pasticinni, crostata and sfogliatella all the way from Naples! Service is always super friendly and efficient too. A must
Food and service are top notch here at Oltre Alimentari e Cucina. Gnocchi and tagliatelle fresh is the only way to go. The cappuccino is one of the best I’ve had.
Update 7aug22: Breakfast today. Frittata: Free range eggs, heirloom tomatoes, parmesan cheese, peas, spinach, sourdough toasted bread with 24-months aged San Daniele prosciutto. $25.30 VG Eggs so fluffy they could almost fly away. Served in the cast iron skillet it was cooked in, so very hot! 10/10. I am becoming very at home here. ••••••••••••••••••• Update 5aug22: Came back to try some pasta. Was not disappointed. Tagliatelle al ragu, the ragu a mix of pork and beef mince. Simple, clean flavour and light on the tummy. Delicious. 10/10 Took home a slice of the Mascarpone tart which was most refreshing. Delicious. 10/10 ••••••••••••••••• Sunny days like today make me want to go to Italy. And that's just what I did by visiting Oltre. My eat-in choice was the Minestrone. You name it, it was in it. So delicious and full of chunky goodness. 10/10 My takeaway order was the Capri panini and a generous piece of Crostata view their Mryum menu for pix and details. Both delicious. 10/10 Coffee so far always excellent. Will be back to try a pasta dish or two. Thanks guys.
Absolutely brilliant food and coffee with friendly attentive service. We had their delicious ragu tagliatelle pasta after we stopped in for lunch whilst in South Yarra by chance. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for good Italian food or just a coffee. You will not be disappointed.
This would definitely be one of Prahran’s secrets. We came here and were so impressed by simple fresh house-made Italian pasta done extremely well. Friendly and accommodating staff finish the excellent experience. Excellent Gnocci hard to find and the Tagliatelle Al Ragu was perfect. Definitely returning and supporting!
A great little Italian restaurant as an adjunct to the Prahran Markets. Serves a variety of pastas, panini & Italian food & great coffee & Italian desserts the apricot tart with coffee being my favourite but then again the croissants were excellent too.Recommended dishesCapri Panini, Lasagna
