In June of this year, the clinic sent me a reminder to come in for my annual check-up, so I rang them up and made an appointment accordingly. When I was called to go into the surgery, the doctor immediately turned to me and said that there had been some sort of mistake, as the appointment made by the staff was for a check-up for one single mole, and not for a whole-of-body check-up. I reminded him that it was the clinic itself that had sent me the reminder for a whole-of-body check-up, and that when I rang them, I told them that I was responding to their reminder. He did not seem happy with this, but went ahead and did a whole-of-body check-up anyway, which took all of two minutes! He then told me that there was nothing which needed treatment. Then just as I was leaving and standing next to the door, I called back to him and asked him about certain spots on my face, and he replied, "Oh, that's solar keratosis. You'll need a cream for that", and then he promptly wrote out a script. So firstly, he moans about having to do a whole-of-body check-up, secondly, this takes only two minutes anyway, thirdly, it was I who had to point out the solar keratosis on my face just as I was leaving, and fourthly, when I went out to pay, they charged me $93. When I complained that last year it was only $35, the receptionist went to great pains to explain to me that I would get $39.10 back from Medicare; but that is hardly the point. Also, when I went out, there was no one else waiting, so what was the big fuss about? Doctors need to understand that they are running a business, just like any other business. Long live free enterprise! These people have seen the last of me.
For someone that has been through cancer , I could not get medical treatment. I'm bouble vaxed and had a mask over my mouth but couldn't have it fully over my nose for medical reasons. I've had treatment from them before for a removal of a mole after my radiation treatment. But could not get medical attention for todays appointment , for sunburn and a reaction from a after sun product, because I could not wear a mask completely over my nose . In response of your reply , you were not accommodating for you can not treat a patient in a car ! I couldn't sit in a waiting room all by myself so I was to sit in my car ! And as for the phone call afterwards your Staff member had told me it's your business and you can refuse medical treatment !
Could take my 3yr old to my appointment with me because she hasn’t had a covid vaccination which isn’t even possible because she is 3 and they aren’t vaccinating 3yr olds. Couldn’t believe it. We now go Warragul for our skin check and they are fantastic and will allow my children in the clinic. These are not government recommendations, they make their own rules which are ridiculous.
Health complaints Commissioner has been contacted and arrangements for an official complaint to be made.
Always a good experience coming here, staff are super accomodating and helpful and wait times have never been drawn out for me. Always recommend if they have openings for new patients!
